Thank you for the update, Doug
The only reason I have Windows running on my Mac is solely for DVDProfiler. It's THAT GOOD.
I use DVDPEDIA on my Mac, but it's not quite as good as PROFILER
So, I really wanted to make certain I wasn't giving you guys a bunch of horse crap because all of it seemed rather extraordinary.
So, a little experiment I just completed...
LAPTOP: Added "Knock At The Cabin 4k" to DVD Profiler (Owned)
DESKTOP: "Knock At The Cabin 4k" was in my DVD Profiler...
Hey guys, help me out with something...
I just noticed something odd.
I have DVDPROFILER installed on two Mac computers, a desktop, and a laptop, accessed via Windows via Parallels.
I prefer to run DVDPROFILER on both devices. The downside is that I have to enter the same information twice...
Software updates? I didn't think this software had been updated in quite some time.
I have recently had to reinstall it on a new desktop. Still the best of its kind, though it forces me to install Windows on a Mac. Small price to pay for great catalog software.
So, the bottom line is that anyone wanting to use Collectorz for the first time, at this point, is forced to use a web-based application.
It's sad that they abandoned the app as this sounds like a decent substitution for DVD Profiler.
I have been using a trial version of Parallels on my M1 Pro Max.
Running Windows 11 ARM
Everything works fine. Going to pay the $50 annual fee to use Parallels since there doesn't seem to be any comparable substitute at the moment.
I am also going to also run DVDPEDIA on my Mac as a...

I am not going to be installing Parallels for another week. I do plan to do so.
Here is how I understand this all works...
Despite what customer support may have stated, it seems that customers are using Parallels on their M1 Pro/Max laptops.
You need to run a special ARM version of...
Things change very quickly....
There are forum users saying that Parallels works fine on their Pro and Pro Max laptops.
So, apparently, no issue. Don't know why their support is saying different.
So, just found this little "ditty" out on another forum. A kick in the pants to anyone who bought one of the new MacBook Pros and wants to run Windows via Parallels for DVD Profiler...
Just spoke to Parallels and they have confirmed that they do not support M1 Pro & Max - just M. "Currently...

That's a very good question as to how many titles that user was actually uploading to the software to say that it was "pretty easy."
I have come to the conclusion after this discussion that there probably isn't a viable alternative to DVD PROFILER and that's alright. We all seem to love...
Collector Movie software is Mac compliant
https://www.collectorz.com/movie
As much as I hate subscriptions, IF the program exceeds DVD Profiler in UI and functionality, I might consider it (though $30 a year is too much). After all, the service needs to maintain cloud storage and software...
Just to add some more things (as I continue to research and read posts on that forum)...
It seems that the members of the Invelos forum continue to point out that DVD PROFILER is the best of its kind and unmatched by other software they have used. The frustration is that the developers have...
Keeping my promise, I did a little searching and found myself on the Invelos (DVD PROFILER) Forum. Seems like the same conversation is going on over there as we have here.
You may find this post of interest....
Last weekend I tried out 2 other database programs: Movie Collector (from...
Doug,
I am glad you got a refund on both. Apple is very good about that.
And thank you for taking one for the team. Had I had my MBP, I probably would have tried it out and then would have ended up doing the same thing you did.
I am not very optimistic there is any software out there that...
Thanks for the update. Keep 'em coming as I ponder on the decision of what to do.
I mean, I'll keep holding on to DVD Profiler and running a Windows VM if I have to.
Now, you guys are saying that MYMOVIES PRO is moving to a subscription but if you buy it soon you will be grandfathered in...
If it's any consolation (it won't be), I have tried exporting both DVD PROFILER and DVDPEDIA databases to other software and it never goes well. I think one of the software I tried to import to was COOLECTOR MOVIE DATABASE.
So, I'll be very surprised if you can do a 100% perfect export/import...
Doug,
I hate to say this, but I'm happy *someone* was the guinea pig for the rest of us.
I am sorry that you are running into issues with the export and it is now given me great "pause" about purchasing the MY MOVIES software if it can't do a proper DVD PROFILER import.
Please keep us...
Should be two
There is the $5 iOS version and the $30 OS X version, though I haven't seen the actual price in the OS X app store. Just pulled that price off the website.
Oh, and there are versions for Windows and Android
Now I remember where I saw the $30 pricetag
https://www.mymovies.dk/products/mac-os-x.aspx
I have no idea what the app store is showing as I don't have an OS X device....yet.
Okay, moved the conversation here per MAN's suggestion. Thanks.
Yes, looks like MY MOVIES PRO 2 is OS X and PRO 2 is iOS
I will download and install it once I get my new MBP.
I currently use DVD PROFILER on Mac, but its limitation when entering boxed sets is that it only enters the single...
Looks good!
I think there is a new update as this is now at version 3. Looks like a nominal upgrade fee. Looking forward to not having to switch to Windows every time I need to run DVD Profiler. That's going to save some $$$
