Im very glad he used them, but like Edwin pointed out, i wish Matthew 27:25 would have been subtitled.

I forgot to mention (and no, i havnt read every page of this thread), but I guess Mel decided on NOT showing the scene which i thought was causing all of the "controversey"?? Namely the part where the religious leaders say: "His blood be upon us and on our children." (Matthew 27:24-25)...

Well, they can always read the book :) Anyway, I really liked the movie, although i wasnt one bit surprised by the "violence". I never expected the crucifixion of Christ to be anything less than brutal, and horrible. Good job Mr. Gibson.
