Sounds like it would be a monster. I'm amazed that so much can be achieved out of so little.....The only problem is that the subs have to be hidden in the cabinets (limiting me to two subs max)...and it looks like the THT's are too large for the cabinets :(...a bit unfortunate as the SPL...
The room is a dedicated home theater, Dimensions are H-20' x W-35' x L-50' (give or take a few feet). I have two areas at the front of the room, close to the corners-dimensions are roughly H-3' x D-3' x L-4'. They will have to be front firing.
As far as budget is concerned, I wouldn't like to...
I'm hoping to build a rather high end home theater and was wondering what subs to use. I've used KEF speakers before and have always liked them.
The 209 subs look pretty good, but are rather expensive (roughly $7000 a sub), so my question is simple....are they worth it? and if not, i would be...
Ok...I cant seem to find the specs for the drivers anywhere... Being that the drivers are the same size 18", and it seems that they are a newer model to what i have installed....Is there any reason that the particular driver (JBL 2242HPL) would not work for the subs I have?
It looks very similar. I'g guessing that i might just be an older model, here's the link to the data sheet: http://www.jblsynthesis.com/downloads/products/prod_110_634485073545391854_S1S-EX.pdf As far as getting it re foamed and re coned goes, I'm a bit limited by my location. Short of getting...
Yea, i finally found the specs for the system, Its a JBL synthesis one. Although, I think I'm gonna have to replace the subs...it looks like they have been used for quite a with the surrounds totally disintegrated, the cones look a bit rough around the edges, if you'll pardon the pun. The specs...
Ok guys, I think i have figured out most of what i want to do. I've narrowed down the Surround processors to either the Integra DHC-80.3 or the Denon AVP-A1 HDCI(A)to replace the JBL SDP-3 Digital Surround Processor/Controller (I'm leaning towards the Integra as the Denon only supports HDMI...
I'm not exactly sure what model synthesis it is, but the components are as follows: 1 x SDP-3 Digital Surround Processor/Controller 1 x SDEC-2500A Equalizer 2 x S400A Amplifier (Bridged): one for each sub 2 x S650A 5 ch Amplifier: for the two fronts, center, four surrounds, and two rears The...
Was looking at Marantz, as they are my preferred choice, but they don't seem to have a 9 channel system, and I'm worried that the sound reproduction wont live up to that of the synthesis system. I'll have a look at Revel and Lexicon though...budget isn't overly important, but still a consideration.
Hi Dave, Yes they are...I will get to listen to the system tomorrow. At which time i hope to get the model #'s as well. However, the rubber casing for both sub woofer cones has dry rotted, so the subs probably wont sound very good.
Hey everybody, This is my first post on HTF, so thanks in advance for any and all feedback, and sorry if this isn't the right area to post this topic. I am about to upgrade a 9.2 home theater system. There is currently an JBL synthesis audio system setup (I'm not sure of the version, but its...
