I like mine so far. I owned a 93 so nothing surprising. I do like the new "video processor" features. Im using my 103 to accept a Directv 480i/720p/1080i signal and send 1080p/60 out to my display.
It allows any device with the compatibility to plug in this stick to the new port (103 and 105), and bam, you have full Roku services. Really smart by Oppo, since their streaming offering has been slack.
I did. I registered for the presale of a limited quantity. They did that on the 93 and I got in on that as well.
No real reason to replace the 93 unless on needs 4k or 2d-3d conversion. The Roku streaming stick also adds a ton of options if that floats your boat. PQ and AQ wise, 93 is still a...
Okey dokey, first impressions:
Looks greatBuild may not feel as hefty as the Oppo 93, but I think thats due to the hollow area in it left to get the xtra height. This thing is big.PQ and AQ seem to be top notch, no issues on familiar content. Still have to break out DVE and Spears and MunsilLot...
As far as factory refurbs, I've bought a few things and not had an issue. AC4L is a factory refurb dealer on those things and I'd not sweat it.
Problem with a lot of HTiB's, is the AVR cannot be used later, its speaker proprietary. If you do go with a HTiB, look at an Onkyo or Denon (or...
I had the 790 and have the 500, both nice. However, they arent universal players and if the OP is looking for something more involved, the players I posted a 3 examples, while pricey. I have the Marantz 5007UD being delivered today. Overpriced? Yes, but I love the look and the quality. I also...
I get where you are going with the $350, but IMO, Id spend the money upfront on a decent powered Denon, then buy the bookshelves later. I say that as someone who has gone down the hard road already.
Try picking up a last years model AVR-1712 or 1912 for a good deal now that the "13" models are...
2011 model Samsungs and so on do not have interpolation any more. The Panasonic do as of 2011 in the US, but they had Intelligent Frame Creation on EU sets before that. Im not sure if LG plasmas have it, but regardless even you can cut it off an LCD if you dont like. Many have added it just...
With the LCD's, you can cut this off. Im not sure if the Plasma version even has that. Do you have any in store around you? When I first wanted to eval Tru Motion I went in and messed around with its settings for about 45 minutes.
Yeah, its pricey, but dang it looks good. Will match my AVR perfectly, kinda excited to see what the new model (July 2012) has in store :)

Will post some impressions later.
The Sony Bravia 720 60" is $2400 on Amazon, and is a good set by a couple of owners ive talked too. I had a Samsung D8000 LED LCD, not very impressed with it because it's side lit results. The Sharp Quattron 60" is $1800 and seems to be doing well by owner accounts. There is no Pioneer LCD.
I always run the color slides for 150 hours, basically never cut the tv off for 7 days straight. I do run them only when sleeping and at work, and watch full screen content when home at night, all of this is done really to get some hours on to bring out any apparent issues, then I calibrate it...
IIRC, when I had my wii, there was no HD adapter. You can buy their kit with component cable (Red/Green/Blue), which gives you the max 480p. That is how I had mine connected to my 1911.
Some folks can see it, some folks cant as much, just like DLP rainbows. I could see rainbows, and it was definitely annoying at times. Not sure that it'll get better, and hard to find a good LCD in plasma size/dollar. Might try a Samsung D7000 and see if she is bothered by it. Maybe watch in store?
Ive been doing blu since 2006, and owned several brands, so here is my take: 1) If you want a general, inexpensive and reliable quality blu-ray player, buy a Panasonic. I have the BDT210 and love it. Sony is also good, but I prefer panny 2) If you want the creme of the crop for top of the line...
