I dicided to give the PC sound a try first and if I don't like it I can always upgrade. I ordered the Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker System. My room is not big (about 15' x 20' with a 15'x15' viewing area).

If I build an HTPC do I need an expensive home theater sound system to get good surround sound or are there some good PC sound options?
