Around my elbow to scratch my ear...

55" LG successfully mounted using a Monoprice.com wall mount (if you have never visited their website it is a must for setting up a home theater or even a living room TV). I estimated the front seating eye-level and back seating eye-level and split the difference so no one would have to look...

    Buttshaker Amplifier

When I spoke with the folks at 4seating I was told that I needed an amplifier with volume control. Most of the amps I have found do not have a volume control, but a gain control. Enlighten, please, with a few links to some compatible inexpensive buttshaker amplifiers. You can respond to me at...

Around my elbow to scratch my ear...

Well, received and unboxed the LG 55-inch wireless to find that the transmitter has a F-type input for OTA antenna (Duh!), so I have a temporary solution that does not, of course run the signal into the receiver and to the transmitter via HDMI (giving me the full benefits of the system)...

And if you can ID a source for a standalone OTA tuner box I'd be really grateful.

Around my elbow to scratch my ear...

Okay, maybe I did not make this clear - the TV is wireless and I do not want to run a wire to the TV directly, but from the equipment bay where the antenna wire is located. I need to find some way to take the existing F-type connector in the equipment bay and connect it to the receiver. Sorry...

Around my elbow to scratch my ear...

...I am buying a new house with an existing home theater (dual tray lighting, dual track lighting, no windows, etc.) and have an issue I need some real educated, experienced help in order to solve. The 12.5' by 16' theater has a dedicated equipment bay and built-in speakers for 5.1 to which I...

Do I have a connectivity issue brewing...

Incidentally, I met with the outgoing owner and discovered that all I have to do to connect the left and right speakers for 7.1 Surround is to cut the holes in the walls and mount them - the cables are already in-place. As you can guess, the speakers are already enroute.

Do I have a connectivity issue brewing...

Another issue arises - I need to find a way to get a connection from the over-the-air antenna running standard F-type coax cable to my receiver which has no accommodation for F-type connections... Any ideas out there???

Do I have a connectivity issue brewing...

Part of the reason not to go projection is that at a certain distance from the screen the old noggin would get in the way of the beams and I am accustomed to 1080P from my Samsung DLP. Using a 55" wireless LCD in a 16' deep room allows me to have two rows of seating (one two-person loveseat and...

Do I have a connectivity issue brewing...

Buying a house with dedicated home theater (10' tray ceiling, multiple lighting systems, built-in speakers for 5.1, NO WINDOW) and the wiring is set up for projection TV mounted top rear of the room running to an equipment rack right front of the room. Have to get briefing from outgoing owner...
