Oh, it's the one where Masrha's mom gives the cooking class (with jokes about the ingredients) and then Robin makes a joke about a warty thumb? That's missing?

Okay, I checked my offair recordings from when the show was broadcast here in the UK recently, and there is NOTHING in between the closing scene of Marsha's mother giving her cookery class and the end credits. It is possible that the person originally reporting this has actually seen some sort...

There's a scene missing in "Marsha's Scheme of Diamonds". The chapter header is there, but the chapter itself is missing.

Here in the UK, there will be the BluRay set (which is Amazon exclusive) and the DVD set. Now, in a textbook example of how not to sell the DVD set, they've decided to make it an exclusive to HMV. That's the HMV that no longer sell anything except downloads online, announce releases via their...

It does, if you just search for "Batman" then click on the "BluRay and DVD" link to the left of the screen, then you sort the listings by release date http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_st_date-desc-rank?keywords=batman&qid=1413563231&rh=n%3A283926%2Ck%3Abatman&sort=date-desc-rank The BluRay...

At least you folks in the USA (and Canada) haven't got the awful mess they've made here in Europe, with Amazon exclusives, listings that appear and disappear depending on what day of the week it is, or others becoming "unavailable to order" at will. The UK Limited BluRay is now unavailable to...

Well, all consumer electronics is in the "hardware"...which really means it is firmware. That just means that the software is held in a non-volatile memory of some sort. some of these are absolutely fixed and ulalterable, but others are in a form that can be updated. When people say that BluRay...

Batman The Complete TV Series Limited Edition (11/11)(Blu-ray)(DVD) Available for Preorder

Not quite true. First, BluRay region coding is software too; it's just harder to break. DVD was originally intended to be a global format; you would be able to buy a disc from anywhere, and play it in any player. However, the film studios realised that this would mean they would lose control...

The German sets are no longer available to pre-order by the looks of things. It is really very odd that thusfar, in the UK, all we have is the BluRay fancy edition, and that's Amazon only. Obvously I can always order any US DVD sets but unless things change they are guaranteeing losse sof...

    Next Hanna-Barbera set?

You're lucky to get the Sandy Duncan one. Boomerang have been repeating these regularly for about thelast ten years, and up until about a year ago they showed every single one except the one with Sandy Duncan. It used to be in the TV listings and they would invariably show the Sonny and Cher...

It woul dbe really weird if there were only domestic BluRay sets. In most countries the DVD market is as big, if not bigger, than the BD one. I strongly suspect this is just Amazon reselling the US version - they're Amazon exclusive, at least they are here in the UK.

    The Prisoner

The Prisoner is a brilliant and dare I say quintessentially British show (much as is the Avengers). It does grown increasingly strange as it goes on and there was a vast complaint about the final episode. I shall say no more. :)

John Astin was Okay as the Riddler, but I think Frank Gorshin was way better. His Riddler was marvellously maniacal yet deadly and he had that fantastic insane laugh. The Jim Carey Riddler was actually one of the very few things I liked in the first cycle of Batman movies. Gorshij is brilliant...

At the moment it is a US release. There is no way of knowing whether there will be releases in other countries. It depend son two things: first, that the rights issues can be resolved in them (as rights are often not the same as, say, in the UK as they are in the USA) and that whoever plans to...

Indeed. It just strike me as a very bizarre decision to make. What's the point of loving restoring something to the best possible quality, then compromising it with compression. It's like comparing a BluRay with broadcast HD; usually Blu wins out because of one thing...bitrates. Batman was made...

If the set breakdowns are correct - and I suspect they are - season 3 on BluRay features one disc with fourteen episodes and the next one with ...two. I'd love to be able to understand how anyone reached that lulu. It's like moving house and hiring two trucks, one of which is so full your china...

I'll go for either the complete DVD set or the individual season sets. The BluRay is too expensive, perhaps region-locked (which is more of a pain to get around than DVD) and I'm not interested in the incidental stuff like the Batmobile or cards. The extras dont; bothe rme all that much, it;s...

"Paranoid". My suspicion about the nature of the discs is simply that the distribution of the episodes made me suspect it, and that it would offer a way to maximise the bitrates by having four on a dual-layer side and two on a single layer side. As to the artwork on the discs, AFAIk th eonly...

With fourteen episodes crammed onto disc 11 the quality won;t be as great as it could be. It's just bizarre to cram that many episodes onto disc 11 and then have disc 12 with ...two episodes. And nothing else. Voila: one overcompressed, the next, underused. WHY?

I have to agree with many of the comments above, espescially those voice by Ron Epstein. I think it's crass and cynical to limit the BluRay release to only the Limited Edition Box'O'Bits - this forces people to buy a premium edition they may not actually want, paying a lot extra for things like...

My own thought is that they're attempting to justify the premium prices - certainly on the LE BluRay set - by including what Ron Epstein colourfuly descibes as the "box of junk". Basically some, well, not tat because they look quite nice, but really incidentals like the toy Batmobile (which I...

-bangs head against wall - One of the big difficulties with old TV shows is that the old contracts did not include anything about home video (including things like VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, BluRay etc). The old contracts covered stuff like repeat broadcasts - inlcuding broadcasts made via sales to...

I think we shoudl all be grateful it's not some damn exclusive deal like only through Time-Life - those are a pain in the butt for people outside the USA/Canada because they don;t accept orders from or ship outside there, but it also means they're not subject to the usual discount pressures as...

And yeah, I don;t see what it being a "half hour" show has to do with anything. It's 120 episodes, which is is sixty hours (or not quite, IIRC the episodes are actually a tad shorter to accomodate an ad break in a half hour slot) I'm guess for the DVD release something like four or at most six...

Yes, of course they paid them. One of the big difficulties in releasing these old shows to "home video" which includes DVD/BluRay, is getting permission from the actors themselves, or more often in the older shows, their estates - and to agree on how much in royalties will be paid. These old...

But the second season of Batman has 60 episodes! This set is 120 episodes long. Try focussing on that instead of how many seasons are in it. The price almost certainly also reflects the costs - all the guest stars and cameos mean there are one hell of a lot of royalties etc paid to various estates
