Is it worth the $100 and 30 mile drive? FS: Onkyo 7.1 Speaker set I looked around and I can't find the model number for these speakers. Actually, they look like these. http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=...ss=Speaker&p=i They look very familiar to my old HT-SR800 set.
My setup:
Onkyo HT-SR800
My dads setup in Living Room:
Center - Polk Audio CS250-S
Front - Polk Audio RT16
Rear - Polk Audio M3 2
Sub - Polk Audio PSW50
Receiver - Denon AVR587
I need some speakers that are as small as Bose speakers, Under $2000-1000 Need 5.1 with Receiver. If not then my dad is going to get Bose, I don't like Bose but oh wells. Bookshelf are fine. Hopefully have them at Circuit City or Bestbuy to test.
I got a 6ft RG6 and Coax to RCA adapters from Radioshack for $2 each. Is it normal for it to be quieter? I had to put my Onkyo to +6db from +0db on the receiver to sound like it was before I changed the wire and I think I turned the knob on the back of the sub a little more.
$300 for my Onkyo HT-SR800 System I feel cheap compared to you guys but this system is sweet for my small room. Only using 5.1 too, Gave my Surround Back speakers to my dad.
Which Onkyo are you looking at? It got a 8/10 from Cnet but the Denon is still a good choice. Onkyo TX-SR605 (black) AV receiver reviews - CNET Reviews
I'm using the ones that it came with. That and is there a big difference from 12 or 14 gauge to 16 gauge? Just wondering, don't want to switch right now. I wish I have the 605, would be sweet having TrueHD or Uncompressed Sound.
Well, I decided and Got the Onkyo HT-SR800 for 300. Sounded great, then I got 16 gauge Speaker wire for the Fronts and it sounded so much cleaner. If I upgrade the Subwoofer Cable would it be worth it? I heard people use RG6 for Subwoofer Cable? Are RG6 Coax Cables that give me signal...
Well, I just got the Denon. They sound great actually. A little hard to get used to after the Yamaha (Which was easy to use) but it sounds good. I couldn't test the receivers there unfortunately nor was there 816's there but there was the 516.
Hell, I got my PS3 for $425, shipped to me and it works fine. Brand New, My cousin got his for $420 but had to pick up (Brand New as well) But it was off craigslist though. If the Sonystyle deal is still there, I would suggest that.
Last time, I couldn't get the receiver money fast enough so I bought my dad something else. Back in my other topic. Well, now I have the money ($300) and I would like to Buy and Pick it up at Circuit City by today (Maybe even test them out at CC). I'm thinking of getting the Denon because of...
Reason I asked about the Onkyo because in the end, I'm paying the same amount of cash more or less. What about the ShopOnkyo Refurb one? Maybe I should buy that Onkyo and use the $100 GC on some Speaker Cables? Those Rear Speaker Cables are looking pretty thin :)
hmm, that sounds like a pretty cool feature and would make it easier on me :) I'll look more into that People say to get the panasonic, because it's Digital? What about the Onkyo TX-SR504
I'm going to buy a new receiver for my dad's birthday :) But I can't decide what to get for him. Needs to be from Bestbuy though (Have a $100 Gift Card) 5.1, Dolby Digital This is his setup right now Center - Polk Audio CS250-S Front x2 - Polk Audio RT16 Rear x2 - Polk Audio M3 2 Sub...
