3D Meet Bob Furmanek: HTF Golden Age 3-D Consultant

Hello and greetings from Australia, I'm confused by all of this information on the 3d version of Revenge .I always thought that distributors of blu rays had an industry standard specification which they all agreed to follow when producing blu ray discs. How come this disc has not been produced...

    Fox 1950s CinemaScope shorts

I have been waiting for some of these shorts for years. Apparently they used to appear on the fox channel in the US as fill-ins some years ago. I screened many of them during the 60's as additions to programmes in the theatre I managed at the time. Not all were 4 track magnetic. As the years...

Thank You, Universal, For Your Recent Catalog Blu-rays!

I'd like a decent widescreen version of The Purple Mask. The only version I was able to get hold of was the terrible pan and scan version from Italy

    SOUTH PACIFIC 70MM OVERTURE

South Pacific screened in 70mm at Sydney's Mayfair theatre for over 4 years and had no overture. The short The Miracle of TODD AO began the programme and if you recall in that short the camera follows a police motor cyclists down the hills of San Francisco and as the cyclist goes over a hump a...

    "The Alamo"s Status?

Well this is not quite right. I screened a 70MM print of both BEN HUR and SLEEPING BEAUTY at the Theatre Royal in Lithgow NSW Australia.. The 70MM print of BEN HUR was especially brought into Australia for it's reissue and MGM distributed Disney product and also had a 70MM print of SLEEPING...

Official KINO Insider Announcements Thread: STRICTLY MODERATED: READ GUIDELINES

I am after the Abbott and Costello version which was originally filmed in cinecolor and I presumed this was the one Bob was speaking about not the Gene Kelly version which would have been filmed in technicolor.

Warner Archive Discussion Thread (The Announcements/The Films)

Doug,Did you notice however this title is not anamorphic but letterboxed. I have been waiting for this title for some time too but very disappointed it won't be in proper widescreen. I'm not quite sure why it's letterboxed maybe that is the only available way the elements would allow but from...

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEBUTS Manufacture-On-Demand DVD SERIES

Tonight I had a real treat I watched my copy of Beneath The 12 Mile Reef. It is glorious. Presented in the proper aspect ratio and with stereo sound. It may well have had work done to it as the picture was pristine with no scratches or negative marks and all cue marks have been removed. It took...

SOUTH SEAS ADVENTURE Deluxe Combo Blu-ray/DVD Review

Great review Tim and I agree with every word. I watched my copy last night and as an Australian I was very interested in the second half of the movie which spends most of it's time in Australia. It is certainly a time capsule of our great country during the 50's and can assure everyone that our...

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEBUTS Manufacture-On-Demand DVD SERIES

Please explain to me this PAL speedup you speak of. Movies were originally photographed at 24 FPS which is what I understand is the frame rate of PAL. On the other hand NTSC runs at 30 FPS which would mean a faster frame rate than they were originally photographed at. According to my reckoning...

TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEBUTS Manufacture-On-Demand DVD SERIES

23 Paces To Baker Street, Night People,The Man Who Never Was and The Man In The Grey Flannel Suit were all released in anamorphic versions in Australia and Violent Saturday was released in blu ray in an anamorphic transfer in France. TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEBUTS Manufacture-On-Demand DVD SERIES
