Glad to see the series finally getting a release. 21 out of 22 episodes are availabe on Youtube but the quality is not the best. I hope the release has better prints. The series I know aired in some form on TvLand years ago because there are screenshots with the logo in the corner online. The...
Oh I know. Hundreds of one season or more shows from the 60's, 70's, and 80's will most likely never ever be released. I can keep hoping though. I want a proper release of Best of The West.
I had to comment on this as I LOVED the ultimate fan hours or TVLand's Kitschen block. Through that I was able to see Tabitha and Mr. Terrific and even Perfect Strangers (while it's on dvd now the episode I taped it was still a crazy rare show to see on cable during that timeframe I believe)...
Resurrecting this thread of yours Neil because it fits with the other one and has a nice list of series. When I get some free time over the next week or 2 I'm going to start trying to figure out how many episodes are out there of each of these shows. Help is greatly appreciated however by anyone...
Sorry for any confusion. I believe what I meant was series that has never had a legit (non bootleg) DVD or VHS release that could be purchased from an actual store OR can't be found easily on a site like ioffer, OR only have half their eps available, OR no copies exist at all.
Thankyou for that link. Does anyone have any idea how many episodes are out there of the Dennis O'Keefe show? I know internetarchive has 4 and somebody uploaded 1 on youtube. so besides these 5, are there anymore out of the 30+?
Cartrivision has fascinated me ever since I discovered it. I would love to own a cartridge, catalog, anything. Ebay listings are scarce and gone right away as well.
I saw this movie for the first time tonight on an old vhs recording. It's great! all I can find for a US DVD is one that's bare bones and a UK one with audio commentary. is that really all there really is for such a famous film? :(
Great thread! I'm worried about alot of series aftet the 60's. Most exist in Vaults but in what condition and as with Mama's Family as example, how many are only Syndicated prints?I still think the ALF fiasco was a joke. Lionsgate used all syndi's because original prints were in rough shape, and...
Are there PD vhs releases of these that never were brought to dvd? Trying to figure out which series have surviving prints, and how many and where gets so frustrating. There is a classic tv Christmas set out there ( Beverly Hillbillies on the cover) that I heard had one single episode for a...
I just discovered "Doctor, Doctor" (1989 - 91) via some network promos. It looks like it was pretty funny. And isn't Yes, Dear all out now on DVD?I'm still waiting for the 2nd and Final season of Whitney...just to complete it. :(Update: And Youtube wins again. Sweet! only this and one other on...
This is a fascinating thread. just the other day I was going through some old TV guides trying to find all the short-lived series that got syndicated locally or in cable. TvLand back in the day showed damn near everything. I taped special airings of Perfect Strangers, Mr. Terrific, Outlaws...
Too bad. It was a blast for myself to rummage through the digiview ones at Walmart. I'd come acrossed sleazy horror titles, old anime, and other intetrsting titles.
My kid knows Batman 66, plays Green Hornet and Kato with his toy cars, and knows Daniel Boone...hes going to know the classics like his dad and his granddad. :)
I have been thinking about a side-project compiling every single TV Series from the 40's until now that are:
1. Not on DVD or VHS
2. Have no copies circulating the Tape Trading groups out there.
3. Making note of series that do not have complete series' known to exist in trading circles.
This...
Oh, I too come acrossed used dollar DVD's for like 3 bucks or more at thrift shops. The actual legit releases that are new however are not in stores anymore anywhere.
I remember in the mid to late 2000's, every single dollar store, and big retailer (Walmart, etc) had a section of Dollar dvds. This was usually always just public domain films and tv series that companies such as DigiView and EastWest were putting out. but over the last few years they have...
I had a bit of a hand in the features and release of S'mores set and they always claimed they were the original ABC airings and uncut. Now that you brought this up I do wonder....I know S'more is more complete than the syndicated airings, and probably more than the airings on Toondisney back in...
When the series ran in reruns on HA! network in the early 90's the unaired episode was shown, and it's been available in tape trading circles for years. It's in the complete series tapes I own. :)
A series I think could use a release sometime this coming year is short-lived 80's series The Charmings. Twice brought up over on Shout! forums...it was explained to be too big a risk by them seeing as not enough people probably remember the series, let alone would shell out the money to watch...
I've seen thoese at Target I believe. I'm still attempting to gather up a list of obscure series. I've found a few of the following listings for VHS release of old series. Are any of these available on DVD...
I'm looking to gather a list of some of the rare/obscure Classic TV titles that have only a handful or less of episodes released on VHS or DVD. This would most likely include mostly Public Domain titles, and I'm especially curious about the recent MillCreek release of Holiday TV Classics I...
I just came acrossed that Burns and Allen vhs set the otherday at Goodwill. I'm debating going and picking it up. If it really is better quality or more intact than the PD dvd releases out there. What other series have been put on VHS only? Was there ever an Amos and Andy dvd release? I never...
Thanks everyone for the very detailed and numerous replies. It helped alot. I wanted to give an update that I went back and bought all the rest of the Earth 2 edit tapes they had, and out of 21 episodes that exist I'm missing only about 4. Its been great fun watching these rought cuts and I'll...
Interesting. Thankyou for helping me out. Does anyone else have any additional information about these? I'm still perplexed how they would end up in WI...hmmmm...strange.
I'm not sure who to turn to with what I found but I figured I post and see who can help. I was at a pawnshop here in WI and came acrossed a handful of black hard vhs cases with a long white label on the side that says "NBC Burbank" at the top. The rest looked like this: Mat ID. B-45337
Title...
I think I would also not mind more episodes released of "Topper." I've only seen it available on 2-3 dollar DVDs with really bad audio and picture. Its not that bad of a show for its time period.
