Both available for $150, but I am having a hard time finding any professional reviews of these players and was hoping the people here could provide the information to help in my decision. Thanks!
My advice would be to get a different sub. I am partial to SVS as an SVS owner. But when shoping around, the SVS sub left me really wanting a lot more.
I have the PB12-NSD/2. And my wife was none to pleased when she saw it. She walked in the room, I said This is the new Sub. She said "I am not happy" and walked out. Within days it disappeared into the room, totally forgotten about and not the giant visable eyesore she feared. It really...
Hello all. Just need some quick easy suggestions here. Looking for a cheap 5.1 receiver with a 2nd zone. Here is the deal. Is going in the bedroom, thats the 5.1. Masterbath will be zone 2. It is not a serious system. Will likely go with HTD inwalls and inceilings. Thanks!
Hello all. Hope this is the right section for this. I am interested in a 'music server' of some sorts. Have a little over 1,000 CDs in my collection. Using a 5 disc changer with this collection is just not working. Unfortunately, when ever I search "music servers" on google, I come up with...
John, Have been strongly considering the SBS and a PB10. And B-stock provides great deals. I would prefer he get tower speakers though because of the small grandchildren and dogs that run around and will surely and without quesitons repeatedly knock the speakers and their stands over if...
I would be interested in hearing about some 3.1 system options for the whole package. Receiver, LRC speakers, and possibly the Sub. I am partial to SVS, but the system would be my fathers and he doesn't need to have sub 20hz bass like I do. Thanks! Budget around $800
There is a slight loss of headroom, but the addition on the bottom end more than compensates in my opinion. I notice that there is far more loss of volume and even bass when listening to music with 2 ports blocked. It just doesn't work. Especially since normal instruments do not go anywhere...
James Randi Offers $1 Million If Audiophiles Can Prove $7,250 Cables Are Better Our rant about those $7,250 Pear Anjou speaker cables found its way to the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF), and Randi offered $1 million to anyone who can prove those cables are any better than ordinary...
Hello all. Need a budget receiver for a 5.1 system. Here are the components currently being considered. Mirage Omni 350s for the fronts, Omni C150 for the center and an SVS PB10 for the sub. Surrounds to be added at a later date in the near future. So what would be a good option...
Anyone own, listened to, or have opinion on the Mirage Omni speakers? Specifically the 350 and 550 models? How about advice on a budget receiver that would be good for running these along with the C150 center and likely a SVS PB10 sub? Comparable price range options would be greatly...
Also wondering about speakers such as the Mirage Omni 350 for the fronts, with a Mirage Omni 150 for a center with no surrounds and the PB10 from SVS. Any good? Some good deals on Mirage Omni speakers right now.
I like this thread. My father has wanted to add audio to his living room and TV, but is cheap and keeps trying to go with a HTIB. Luckily I have stopped him so far. How are the Radiient Helios? They look nice, so my mother won't immediately object on that basis. I would like him to buck...
I have wondered about that, both on a personal level and for my father. Is HDMI really needed on a receiver? Whats the difference between running through the receiver and just plugging the DVD and DVR right into the HDMI inputs on the TV and running the audio signal back to the receiver? Other...
The center would go ontop of the armour itself, not the TV. So just building a wedge of some type would be no problem. I have an SPL meter and Avia disc, so calibrating it for the odd ball distances would be easy, but maybe still not get the real impact and sound quality I would like for him...
I will try to see about drawing up or somehow finding a floorplan of the room. On the center channel, my father has his 46" Sammy DLP in an Armour and the center would need to be ONTOP of it. I am sure I could easily build a wedge to angle it downward to the listening position. Would this be...
Thanks for posting this. I have been eyeballing some Swans for a while. My father would like to add some audio to his living room TV. Problem is the room set up and configuration makes a full surround sound set up very problematic without a great deal of drilling, hole cutting, and running...
Hello all. I am a computer idiot. I know next to nothing about them and the language in ads and product descriptions is just confusing and means nothing to me. Here is my deal. I need a new tower. My monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, are all fine. I use the computer for email, internet...
Hello, I have the Marantz SR5600 receiver and want to hook up my 4GB iPod Nano to it periodically. What is a good, yet cheap product I can purchase to hook it up with? Also, needs to hook into the connection on the front of the receiver. Thanks!
Most electric companies will come out and do a whole house surge protection thingy. I know nothing about it, but hear commercials for it on the radio all the time. Does anyone out there know anything about this?
As an SVS owner, I have to suggest SVS. I am just thrilled with mine. But others can actually provide technical data and reasons to go one way or the other. I can't. Just love mine. But since the HSU is a little more expensive, maybe bump your SVS budget a little and go with the 20-39PCi...
