I know UCLA did a restoration of the film years ago. I know the film is in Public Domain but I think UCLA should release the film in conjunction with Warner Brothers. They could add new background music for 1 scene on they could copyright that. nobody else could use this transfer with that...
I think the studios don't have release date locked down yet. So I think they might be waiting to see when it is the best time to release the new restoration.
The days of dollar dvds are over but the good news is that legit companies are releasing multiple titles on a single dvd and they cost under $1.00 a film. I bought a 10 movie pack of horror films for only $5 at Walmart. Titles on it were "Halloween vi" "Halloween H20" "Halloween Resurrection"...
We spent money on a home theater because we love movies but hate the public. Cellphones are a HUGE PROBLEM but so is people coming in after the film starts. (I think no tickets should be sold to a film already in progress)
"The Karen Carpenter Story" is one film that should be released. I am not sure why it hasn't. It could bes music clearence rights issue or Richard Carpenter doesn't want it released. I know he wasn't happy with the Todd Haynes film (Barbie Dolls) but he was the executive producer of the 1989...
I would hope that is Peter Pan with Mary Martin gets re-issued that it would be re-stored. Teh DVD that I saw the color was fine and the sound was ok however with todays tech they could do wonders with a new transfer.
Yes I saw the restoration. It looks and sounds great. Judy looks very healthy. Teeth ultra white and her lips very bright red. The stand out of course is "Born in a Trunk". The detail in costumes is a sight to see.
There is no complete print. There is no collector that is holding out. If MR COLLECTOR IS a film lover then he should send the footage to Warner Brothers so generations to come can enjoy the complete version! If he doesn't turn the footage over to Warner Brothers then the movie will die with...
Well I have the LASERDISC that are THX of the original versions/ To me they look great. A DVD copy off of them would look better then the DVD'S that were releasesd
If someone has all the missing footage then that person could make a copy on his print. He could then send part of the missing footage to Warner Brothers or the Academy. He/She could then just ask WB or the Academy to pay him/her the cost of the print. If you are the collector & you need a go...
Okay very stupid question but... When filming started up again on Superman II how long was the shoot? Most of us have heard that it was sometime in 1979 but nobody never has said when shooting was completed or have I missed it somewhere?
Are you going to or have done any interviews for the upcoming Superman 14 disc dvd set? Also is there any cut footage from Superman II that you hope makes the DVD
This just a rumor but I heard the original "Making of Superman, Superman II, & Superman III" are to be included. Each ran 1hr when they aired on ABC. Each one aired before the movies opened! The making of "Superman" aired in 1978. The making of "Superman II" aired in 1981, and Making of...
I think audio comentarys should be like a film school! I am tired of bimbo actress talking about there hair customes and makeup! If this actress want to talk then fine but let the directors have a comentary to themselves. "Christmas Vacation" is a prime example on why actress should not be able...
I want a special editon of deleted footage "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure. I also want 'Superman The movie" THE International Editon (3hrs and 8 Minutes)
The only reason JW came back to score re-score "THE STAR WARS SPECIAL EDITIONS" is becaue he was going to do the new Star Wars movies! Maybe if he is scoring the new Superman movies he will re-score the SPECIAL EDITIONS OF SUPERMAN II but I am not counting on it..
I don't thik JOhn Williams ever one scoring session of Superman II. In order to score a movie there needs to be a completed movie! Richard Donner never "had the chance to finished Superman 2" so therefor John Williams did not compose anything for Superman II. I hope arner Brothers does get...
