Yamaha RX-V2600 will upscale to HDMI at 1080I. I use it all the time with my Tohisba 62MX195 1080P HDTV set. Super picture quality and sound! System has been up now for about one month, no issues!

When I got out my NIKKO Gama 1 receiver, I wanted to compare it to my new Yamaha RX-V2600. I was using a newly installed omni directional folded dipold antenna. Being in San Diego my goal was not only the local stations but the Los Angeles stations. My test is what I call the 400 KHz adjacent...
I was wondering if you can recommend other A/V forums? Activity on this site seems a bit Low, but then they all may be this way. Not sure what the Most Popular site is on the web for talking about Receivers and Speakers??
I have had the unit about 2 weeks! Did a LOT of research on it before I decided on it over a Pioneer or Denon. I have KLIPSCH SYNERGY F-3 speakers for the front 3 speakers, and JBL S38II 3 ways for the 4 rear plus a JBL Sub Woofer. I have done a lot of testing and I am very pleased with the...
I think the YAMAHA RX-V2600 will do this, It will do 9.1. 4 front speakers, plus Center, 4 rear speakers plus Sub Woofer. That is 9 plus 1 or 9.1! :b :b :emoji_thumbsup:
Used the YAPO function and it told me one of my rear right surround speaker was out of phase??? I checked the wiring at the AMP and the speaker and it was OK??? So using a 1.5 volt battery I checked the movement of the voice coil and WOW, it was reversed. Opened up the speaker and found the...
That seems very strange on the power, but I will read the review and See if I can understand what they are saying! I now have my RX-V2600 home, Acoustech HT-75 speakers and my Toshiba 1080P 62" TV arrives on Tuesday!! SO I am getting ready for a new beginning of my home theater upgrade. last...
I was wondering if anyone has an opinion related to the E-80 vs the L880 series JBL speakers. They both contain the same number of speakers, well the L880 does have an additional High Frequency tweeter. But the speakers L880 are almost twice the cost of the E-80. These will be driven with a...
I was wondering how you placed the microphone for YAPO??? Some folks sit it on the couch or chair or floor??? My intention will be to place it on a camera tripod so the microphone is exactly where my HEAD will be when I am sitting in the chair or on the couch-sofa. I like the memory options. I...
The YAMAHA RX-V2600 will take Analog inputs and convert them to 1080i and output that on the HDMI output jack that ten feeds your HDTV set. Nice feature and works great! ;) ;) ;)
I did not see anything NEW on the site??? I am sure a lot has changed in the last 2 years as more higher end receivers are now THX certified! :frowning:
I would also be interested in seeing this. I am sure it depends on the CLASS of receiver. I wold hope the RX-V2600 would be higher rated then the HTR series of receivers!
I think you nailed it!! Given the correct ventilation. HEAT is a killer when it comes to Electronics. A small whisper fan plugged into one of the AC power sockets will help keep the air moving across the Heat Sinks and the unit will just run cooler. Some amplifiers will place a internal FAN on...
No Problem. You need to be a Rocket Scientist sometimes to figure out what is different on certain models. Sometimes I think it is the way they advertise the product intentionally leaving out one important difference. I am still trying to figure out the difference between the Toshiba 62MX195 and...
This will show you California. Not sure what state you are in??? But you can also enter your state! Replace my MMM with www in the below address mmm.ibiquity.com/cgi-bin/liststations?state=CA&sort=StnOnAir
I have checked again! The 4600 Does Not have XM ready feature only HD radio. But the 2600 and 1600 do. I already have an XM antenna that is authorized for my ETON E-1 radio, so all I need to do is plug it into the 2600! The authorization is done inside the antenna not the radio thus the name XM...
I am 99% sure that the 4600 Does Not have XM! If it did, I would get that model in a heartbeat, but I will go back and check again!! I think Yamaha figured if you have Digital HD radio, why offer XM. It requires 2 digital decoders for the on screen menu readout. Let me check on this.
I should take the plunge here in a bout a week for the 2600. The 2600 has XM satellite the 4600 does not but the 4600 has DIGITAL RADIO from AM and FM radio stations. SO for me I will stick with the 2600 and if I get the bug for digital radio I can get a portable radio for $350.00. With XM...
Thanks for the update!! I was told today at a HI-FI store that they got a technical bulletin that said Yamaha WOULD pass HDMI from a cable box but NOT Denon or Pioneer! That is good to know.. That HDMI feed is from a SA set top HD DVR box used by Cox.
As I search around for a new receiver in the $1000 price range I seem to have focused on the new Yamaha RX-V2600 but have not ruled out the 4600 higher end unit. The 4600 has HD Digital AM-FM built in, the 2600 does not. The 2600 has XM satellite. Some audio files at work have told me that for...
