When you do decide to get the Universal Monsters set, I would strongly recommend the UK version. It's region free, has the same content as the US one, but it's usually at least $15 cheaper than the US version. It's currently $52 including shipping from Amazon UK.
Hi All,
I was at Best Buy in Manhattan this evening and found an end cap with a few blu-ray collections that weren't advertised in this week's circular.
Alien Anthology: $39.99 http://goo.gl/8MuTZ
Coen Brother Collection [Fargo, Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona): $19.99...
Did you end up getting any of your items? I ordered the Tales from the Crypt set and they cancelled my order due to a "technical pricing issue" and offered a 25% coupon to make up for it. However, I also ordered The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. and still haven't seen it ship yet. Is anybody...
I went to a Best Buy in Manhattan today to get the 3D blu-ray sets of The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. They let me use the coupon for $5 off Beauty and the Beast AND the $5 off The Lion King PLUS a $8 discount for buying both. So it cost me $46 for both with tax! Not a bad deal. Cheaper...
It comes up on their web site as $41.99 without any special mention of an online only sale. You can also do an in-store pick up at that $41.99 too. Still a fantastic sale price, regardless.
Ha, I just went to Best Buy and they price matched the entire set. It was a bit of a struggle. They kept forcing the issue that the online circular for Target says "Stores Only" and for some reason that means it's a door buster sale that Best Buy won't match. I pushed back and went to the store...
I stopped by my local Big Lots today, and they had a bunch of HBO titles for $3. I picked up The Laramie Project, Empire Falls, and American Splendor. I was really surprised to see such quality titles!
Hi All, I went to the Virgin Megastore in Times Square (NYC) and they are selling all HD-DVD movies for 50% off. They had the Harry Potter box set with all five of the current movies for $75, Blade Runner (5 Disc set) for $20, the Blade Runner brief case set for $50, and Beowolf for $19.99...
Yeah, I really don't get why they're telling me that the release date changed. I got very frustrated on the phone with the supervisor because the company line doesn't make sense. I'm in New York City and the set is sold out everywhere too! I am really annoyed with Barnes and Noble on this one.
Did anybody else get a message from Barnes and Noble that the "release date has been pushed back" for the Superman Ultimate set? I've talked to three customer service persons and a supervisor about this. They claim that the distributor has not released the DVD set and they won't have it in stock...
Long story short, Costco gave me an incredibly difficult time getting the price adjustment. First, I called a bunch of Costco locations and was repeatedly told that I needed my receipt to get a price adjustment on a previously purchased product. FYI: they said their policy is 30 days on...
I just bought Simpsons seasons 6-7 at Costco about three weeks ago for $30.49 each. Will they do a price adjustment or will I have to live the rest of my life in regret?
A similar thing happened to me with the Sin City CE that recently came out. Someone at Best Buy accidentally placed the label for the original set of Sin City by the CE and so it looked like the CE was only $19.99. Since there were about ten sets with that price tag in front of them, they were...
The display I saw was really small and there was a memo on top of it telling the folks who work there how many of each show needed to be in the display. Firefly (as well as most of the shows on sale) was only allotted about 5 copies total. I didn't see any more of those sets in the store, so I...
Actually the only difference between the two versions is the video format. The regular (non-box set) editions contain the same material, except they also contain the pan and scan versions of the films. Other than that difference, I believe, they are identical. On each of the box set dvds...
You know, I thought that too, but Amazon shows that New Line just re-released the set on September 6th and it was backordered for a little while. So, I think they just lowered the price because it's an older set with pretty shoddy transfers.
I'm not sure if anyone saw this or mentioned it yet, but the New Line Platinum Series collection of the Nightmare on Elm Street DVDs has dropped from being over $100 to around $42-45 depending on the site. I went to Best Buy last night and picked it up for $45. The set still had a $89.99 price...
