I found one edit so far, on the episode "The Best Friend". It's not even a music-related cut, which I thought was weird in itself. I uploaded the scene in question on YouTube, which can be found here: YouTube - Matlock - The Best Friend (DVD Deleted Scene) If I find anything else, I'll...
The missing sound effects aren't as bad as on season 3. It's most noticeable on Knight of the Juggernaut. As I mentioned in an older post, season 4 was gonna be released in mono when it should be stereo. Even the syndicated versions are stereo...for the DVD to not be stereo, there's something...
There's quite a few shows that have multiple syndication versions. Fresh Prince of Bel-Air has at least 2: 1 version, an older one, which still airs on some local channels, and TBS when they aired the show. The other, a more recent one, airs on Nick@Nite and Noggin/The N. Both versions meet the...
I cannot answer A, since on top of the uncut prints, there are different syndication prints too, such as the ones aired on the Family Channel in Canada, and the Hallmark Channel. I'll use the first episode as an example. The one that aired on Hallmark was a minute longer than the version on DVD...
A lesser-known fact about Original ALF vs. Syndicated ALF is that most, if not all of ALF's lines were redone for syndication. The lines were more or less the same, but just sound different. On top of that, the theme song was redone for seasons 1 and 2 (the theme for seasons 3 and 4 remains the...
David, it doesn't seem like it's an error afterall. I purchased the season 3 set recently, which has an episode from season 4. That episode is mono. I guess we'll see what happens. Since I usually care more about uncut episodes than anything, this issue won't really bug me, but it's still an...
Sorry for not posting the info for that episode earlier. I had to dig through the collection to find "Bundle of Joy". I had 2...one from a TBS taping (something I taped by accident, but didn't bother to tape over), and one from the original airing...both of them clocked in at around 20:40 (give...
The show is from 1978 (same year as when the US did their own live-action Spider-Man series). I haven't really seen an episode of it, but judging from the pictures on that site, it looks...well...interesting. I can't say if it's a good interesting or a bad interesting, but yeah. I guess...
Punky Brewster has the original NBC logo before the show intro (season 1 only), and also during the end credits. Some season 2 episodes have the "NBC In Stereo" logo during the intro. Though the more modern NBC logo also appears after the end credits, so it loses a point for that. All episodes...
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4901 According to the specs, the audio is English mono. That couldn't be anymore wrong, considering the 4th season was the first (and only) season to air in stereo. The intro even said "In Stereo, where available". The theme song and background...
The MTV2 versions are badly edited and unwatchable (especially the seasons 2 and 3 episodes). All the fire references and other crazy stuff are gone, and they actually changed a music video in one of the season 1 episodes (might've happened for a couple of other episodes too). I think the later...
One thing that still leaves me baffled is the fact that WB is releasing the DVD in mono. Season 2 (and Season 1 for that matter) aired in stereo. Although I can't really tell with the original versions I have, I can sure tell by the reruns that air on both WB 11 (New York), and Nick@Nite. That...
I can tell you that Fresh Prince has quite a few short episodes which may appear to be syndication length, but aren't. Here's a list of which episodes are short, and the lengths: Season 1 (length range: 23:30 - 23:50): 1. The Fresh Prince Project (22:00) 3. Clubba Hubba (21:49) Season...
I figure it'll be the same versions that were shown on FX, which had like a minute or so trimmed (they're probably around 21-22 minutes, compared to the 23 minutes of the originals). Not sure what exactly was cut... Since a lot of the songs used during the dance cues were...
That is excellent news. I'll be taping any of the segments that were missing on the DVDs. I have a couple from the FX airings, but I might as well get the others from BET...
From episode "It's a Bundyful Life (Part 1)": 22:13 The scene with Al tied up is actually slightly longer on the DVD (judging by the audience clapping. At this point, a "To be continued" is thrown in, followed by some credits before the ending credits, which weren't in the original episode...
I'll check my copy of the original episode, and make any comparisons. Supposedly there's stuff missing in the 2 part version that was originally in the 1 hour episode, and stuff missing from the 1 hour episode that got added to the 2 part version.
You have to remember...the uncut episodes run about 22:50 - 23:10. That includes the full 1:10 intro, the episode itself, and 30 seconds of credits. The syndicated versions run about 21:40 - 22:00, but that includes a 36 second intro. So all that's removed is around 30-40 seconds of footage...
Disc 2: From episode "At the Zoo": 5:28 Marcy: "Excuse me, but did a pig just burp in here? Well, here I am feeling sorry for myself when my poor Steve has been out looking for work all day long. He must be exhausted...you know, he comes home even more tired than I am." *Steve sneaks...
Since I purchased the DVD, I'll be looking through the 7 syndicated episodes to see what exactly is missing. Here's what I have so far: Disc 1: From episode "Dead Men Don't Do Aerobics": 4:00 Peggy: "I can't believe it...I've never won anything before. I've never had anything before...
Comparing one episode (The Art of Dick), the DVD version is 21:45 (from what I researched...I didn't risk purchasing the DVD due to Carsey-Werner's already-"impressive" handling of their shows on DVD), while the uncut version is 22:39. You can do the math from there. Most likely, the other...
One explanation I've been waiting to see since it was released is the tag scene being removed from the episode "Ralph's Rival" (Three's Company: Season 4). Perhaps Anchor Bay can explain that one.
I posted my own review on Amazon, in the only way I can: pure sarcasm. I'll just wait for the other idiots to post crap. It looks like it's up to the intelligent folks to put some sense to these folks.
After watching the first episode again (the only episode I possess), it must be said...this show must come out on DVD. Considering it only has 26 episodes, they could just release the whole show in one DVD set...or, they could just release them in volumes (like A Pup Named Scooby-Doo). Would be...
Pavan, does "It's a Bundyful Life" appear as 1 episode or 2 episodes on the DVD? Also, what is the length for that particular episode(s)? Either way, I plan on buying season 4. What I might just do, though, is take the unedited versions I have of the episodes that appear edited on the DVD...
There is a movie coming out in 2006, so it looks like we'll be waiting until then for a DVD release. Perhaps the DVD will be just like the Bewitched DVD..a B&W and Colorized release.
Now, let's just hope the episodes themselves are unedited. I can't even watch it on MTV2 because of the horrible edits. I do have some uncut episodes (with the music videos), so I can always enjoy those.
