    Kind of late

I've been a member of this board for a while and failed to do this. Sorry. I mainly post in the TV on DVD section and that was the main reason I started coming here. Anyway, it's great to be here. It must be since I've been here for years now. So, back to the TV on DVD section.

    TV on DVD news roundup

VEI got McCloud. Well, I'll have to think about that one. I already have all 7 seasons from Australia and I'm quite pleased with them. Also, I'm not sure that I'm ready to sit through the series again. By the time I got to season 5, I was getting quite bored with it. Season 6 and 7 were a...

    mccloud season 3 and 4

I'm not a huge fan of the show either but I really wanted all three of the original NBC Sunday Mystery Movie shows so I got them. Of the three originals, I much prefer McMillan and Wife over Columbo and McCloud.

    mccloud season 3 and 4

I bought all 7 seasons directly from Madman years ago. They were about $65.00 each (and that didn't include shipping) so they were pricey from the start. I got rid of my US Seasons 1 & 2 set since I got the Madman releases. The Madman season 1 set is great. I much prefer the original 50 minute...

Monty Python's Flying Circus: Complete Series Blu US Release

Let me check. I thought it had sub titles. Just checked and no sub titles. Sorry.

Pre-Order Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - The Complete Collection (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

The DVD version is the original network version (with the exception of the opening credits). The Blu-ray version is a two part version but I hesitate to call it a syndicated version since each part has a running time of 48+ minutes. The same as all of the other stand alone episodes. The Kino...

Pre-Order Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - The Complete Collection (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

The DVD version of Flight Of The War Witch, in the extended version the extra footage in the opening sequence shows a shot of two Draconian Marauders launching from the Draconia, Buck and Wilma walking on the bridge/walk way in New Chicago (from the film and pilot), Buck and Wilma in their Star...

Pre-Order Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - The Complete Collection (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Ok, so I took another look at the situation with the Flight Of The War Witch episode(s). The 2 part version that is on the Blu-ray each have a running time of 48+ minutes. This is consistent with the 2 part episode The Plot To Kill A City and the rest of the 1 hour stand alone episodes. So...

Pre-Order Buck Rogers in the 25th Century - The Complete Collection (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

One thing that has not been mentioned is that the Flight Of The War Witch episode on the Blu-ray set is the 2 part syndicated version and not the original 2 hour version that originally aired in 1980. Missing is the extended opening previews, extended opening credits/theme song, a scene...

Monty Python's Flying Circus: Complete Series Blu US Release

Sorry, no it is not. In my research to determine what was and wasn't cut over the years, I ran across a couple of references that read like the entire sketch had been cut. That was my mistake. It wasn't the sketch that had been cut but the 'silly bunt' line. The articles I read were not clear...

Monty Python's Flying Circus: Complete Series Blu US Release

In regards to the Tonight, Tonight line. Something doesn't make good logical sense here. If the line was cut due to music licensing issues, then why is it on the bonus features? Logically, they would still have to pay for the use regardless of where the line is shown (episode proper or bonus...

Monty Python's Flying Circus: Complete Series Blu US Release

Thanks for the info. Glad to see I was incorrect about the Frost phone number. I did see that, but the way it was described in the various sources I read, had things all wrong so I thought it wasn't the one shown. Michael Palin was the one that read the number and not John Cleese. That was the...

Monty Python's Flying Circus: Complete Series Blu US Release

My set arrived on Wednesday and I've been going through it. So far, these episodes look better than I've ever seen them look. Lots of original stuff restored. Unfortunately, there are still 3 edits to the series (that I've been able to confirm). Series 1, Episode 2 (Sex & Violence) is missing...

Shows you think deserved one more season

Absolutely! I love the remake. It was fantastic and it did indeed get many, many things right. It was just getting warmed up and the plug got pulled. Sad.

Shows you think deserved one more season

There are several that I feel could have gone on at least one more season. However, some would have to bump up the quality. Soap--would like to have had a 5th season, but the writing would have to get better. Season 4 started off good but really went downhill fast. If this couldn't be...

Time/Life Press Release: The Best of Cher

The original release last year was a 10 disc set. They just removed all of the Cher specific special features and moved those to the Best of Cher set. It made room for them to compact the episodes onto 9 discs instead of 10. The Sonny & Cher episodes are exactly the same. The Cher Show episodes...

Time/Life Press Release: The Best of Cher

Did you get the regular edition or the deluxe edition? The deluxe edition has the Sonny & Cher set that was released last year but it was redone to include 4 new to DVD episodes of Cher's show since TimeLife move 4 episodes to the Best of Cher set. Getting the deluxe edition is the only way to...

Time/Life Press Release: The Best of Cher

Again, you should contact TimeLife regarding the issue. It was due to music licensing issues. There were about 5 or more different songs in that medley and any one of them could have been too expensive to license. Therefore, it was probably simpler to cut the whole thing than try and edit around...

Blu-ray Review Wonder Woman: The Complete Collection Blu-ray Review

May I ask what email address you used to contact them? Obviously you got a super fast response. I've been waiting over 3 weeks for them to respond and nothing.

Time/Life Press Release: The Best of Cher

I don't know. I would direct your question to the people over at TimeLife since they prepared the press release. If you go to the actual TimeLife site, the episode is listed on the very first disc of the set. Just so you are aware, the duet between Bette and Cher has been edited on the DVD. The...

Blu-ray Review Wonder Woman: The Complete Collection Blu-ray Review

Sorry. I'm not attempting to contact them again. They obviously don't care so why bother. With all of these new issues, I'll just send the set back and wait for a corrected version to be released. It's easier.

Time/Life Press Release: The Best of Cher

It's on the set. It's the very first episode of the 1975 series.

Blu-ray Review Wonder Woman: The Complete Collection Blu-ray Review

Well, I emailed Warner Home Video customer service over two weeks ago and have not received a reply. Kind of what I expected. That's too bad. I guess the missing credit issue isn't going to be addressed. The only way to get a correct copy is to buy another one and send this one back.

I believe that The Curiosity Shop is lost and only a few clips survive. ABC probably wiped the tapes years ago.

What do you think the chances of one these sitcoms having a complete series release?

All of the scenes of Rhoda running in her wedding dress (opening and closing credits) is part of the episode as it was released on DVD. Shout made a big deal out of the fact that they got a complete and uncut version of the wedding episode for the DVD release.
  29. Brian Himes

What do you think the chances of one these sitcoms having a complete series release?

The wedding episode was not one of the edited episodes. Shout did manage to get an uncut version of that episode. It was one of the few for season 1.
