Thanks Dave, that makes sense since Disney ist taking its time with some movie releases I'm waiting for as well. I still wish TV was higher on their priority list though. Since those two awesome looking Pirates Of The Carribbean BD's I'm just aching to see what they would do with a high profile...
tvshowsondvd.com has posted dates on Lost, Desperate Houswives and Grey's anatomy (all on regular DVD) and in the Lost article they stated that we shouldn't hold our breath for any of these shows to be released on Blu Ray soon. http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7400 I'm really...
I'm no Peanuts expert, so I don't know if this collection is as "complete" as it's labeled but they are releasing a 12 complete disc set in Germany in December.
Can anybody confirm if the RC1 general release of Season 2 (not the BestBuy exclusive) is a standard Amaray case for two discs without a slipcase? I think it would look wierd on the shelf next to the S1 box.
I'm sure it's metal. Over here in Germany they packed a limited edition of the PC game "Panzers" (Parts 1&2) in an old US munitions box. However the actual box doesn't look as pretty as the one that's advertised. It's not even the same design as the model box they used for that picture...
I just wish they had a more consistent design of the back of the slipcases. I don't understand what's so difficult about making the backs of the boxes match. It looks weird especially next to the Cheers sets. The digipak itself and the cover art usually is fine, too. It's just the back of the...
I'm sure a complete X-Files set will be coming out sooner or later. They are just about to release one in the UK after they've repackaged and reduced the sets in price earlier this year. It's a really good value at just about $30 a season - much lower than the price of the reduced individual...
I know - but I already have the seasons with the right aspect ratio. I guess with this purchase it would be a matter of justifying buying the set with the fact that the 2nd set I would get at least wouldn't be totally identical (Bonus disc aside) - even though it's "faulty". Plus I like the UK...
I'm currently wondering if I should get the complete UK "Buffy" set. I own all the US seasons but I have become a huge fan since and would like to give the different screen format a try and the intact "previously on"'s would also be nice. The US set is out of the question though I would like to...
On some Karaoke video games I have, they use different artists to perform the songs. They sometimes sound very much like the original and apparently it's also done to cut costs. I could definitely live with that on TV DVD's and I'm pretty pedantic as far as music replacement is concerned. ;)
If you don't like double sided discs and have the means to play RC2 DVD's you could always look at the UK versions of some Universal shows. They release many shows (i.e. Magnum, Murder She Wrote, Columbo, Las Vegas) as 6 disc sets over here instead of the three or four disc releases you get in...
I posted my assessment of the editorial on tvshowsondvd.com in the "House MD" thread already but since you opened this thread on that very topic I thought I'd post it here as well. -------------------------- Gord, that's a good editorial you posted on your site. I totally agree with you...
I don't know. If the show sells well on DVD (which I think it did in the UK) and is one of Universals hotter TVDVD properties, a HD might not be that far away. Especially if the show keeps running on TV it's much more logical to put it out than one of the older shows. Of course it all depends...
I don't get it. JoA is a relatively new show so DVD rights must have been an issue when they cleared the song for the TV broadcasts. I don't know how one can defend this practice - it has never been more obvious that the only reason the opening isn't on all episodes is to cut costs, no "timing...
Scratched discs in box sets are a problem especially for international customers of RC1 DVD's. We have no choice but to buy online so replacing bad discs can be quite a nuisance because you have to wait that much longer before you can finally enjoy your long awaited DVD set if it needs to be...
I've almost finished watching my season 1 set. Since I hadn't seen a single episode of "Charmed" before this, I wanted to ask people who are familiar with the show: "Does it get better?" I won't say I'm disappointed in the show just yet - but some (if not most) episodes struck me as way to...
Simply to justify the high price they ask. I bet there is quite a number of people who think they get better value the more discs they get. Pay $75 for a 3 disc set? People will likely think they're getting ripped off. If it's a six disc set it's easier for buyers to justify their purchase. It's...
I think it's a nice puppet - I don't mind that it's not totally accurate, the only thing that strikes me as odd from the picture is that they chose those brown (almost red) eyebrows. Wouldn't darker eyebrows have looked better?
I think it's very likely that they'll do additional releases. I don't think they'll stop with one "definitive" best of set. If they decide to milk their property Warner could do character themed best of DVD's and/or maybe a release with some well known guest stars.
I'm worried about Son of the Beach, Boomtown and Tru Calling. Especially with Boomtown and Tru Calling it would have made sense to do "Complete Series" sets. Both shows have six unreleased episodes left, so all it would have taken was to add a single DVD to the season 1 releases. I hope they put...
Thanks for the info Ken and Linda. Since Garbage is my favorite band I'm glad I got a used copy of the recalled set relatively cheap from Ebay last month. It's funny though that Warner licensed a song that would return in season 2 just for the season 1 set. The only explanation I have is that...
I also hope they do release the rest of the show. They don't have to put as much effort in the 2nd set as they did in the first (commentaries, introductions etc., it is a great DVD set). A bare bones release of the episodes would be enough. It would be a VERY nice surprise if they decided to...
Ally McBeal is available all over Europe, not just the UK. What's even better - Fox has recently released a repackaged version of the show which features full season sets as opposed to the half season sets we used to have. The price has gone down considerably as well - so it's a pretty good deal.
That's (among other factors) why I prefer collecting RC1 shows over the RC2 versions. In the UK they frequently release shows in a nicer package once they've completed their run. Sex and the City, Friends, Star Trek TNG&DS9, Farscape, Roswell, Millennium, Futurama and Buffy come to mind as shows...
For me widescreen also would be the only incentive to buy that season again (and even then I'm not sure I will). I just hope that they're not starting a trend with this release. If it sells well, companies like Paramount who release their shows without any features might rerelease their...
