Thanks Felix and Ron for your helpful comments. I was able to access the tracks through the Group and Audio buttons. I wasn't used to having to use them and thought everything was accessed through the main menu. Finally, the DTS versions of the songs are astounding! Thanks again!
Thanks, Felix. I had no idea I now need another DVD player to listen to these tracks. I'm thinking huge ripoff here since every other DVD and DVD-A with DTS encoding plays fine on my player except for this release. But thanks for the tip for "Group". I'll try that.
I just received my copy yesterday and have to say there is no option to listen to the discs in DTS or DD. When I choose setup of the DVD-A discs my player has two choices - Advanced Resolution Surround Sound (PCM) or Advanced Resolution Stereo. I have a Denon 2200 player and it does not identify...
Why can't Capitol just recall the sets as they're not on sale yet? Not everyone will get the news that the wrong mixes were used and will buy them anyway. Seems like a no-brainer unless Capitol is just out to confuse everyone and make some more money off the Beatles catalog.
I have a six year old Definitive Technology subwoofer that just started humming yesterday. No problems at all in the six years I owned it. It still hums after I unplugged the cable and continues to hum when I plugged it into a different AC outlet. Should I start shopping for a new sub?
How about Car 54, Where Are you? This early 60's show was hilarious with incredible comic casting - Joe E Ross, Fred Gwynne (pre-Munsters), Al Lewis (also pre-Munsters), and Charlotte Rae. Filmed in the fabulous Bronx, New York! Viva Toody and Muldoon! :)
Thanks for the answers to my questions. I agree with Bruce that Reflections in a Golden Eye is at the top of my list. The High Definition channel HDNet Movies showed this film last year and I was fortunate to see it a couple of times. It looked absolutely amazing and was broadcast in widescreen-...
Another question - as far as I know Elizabeth has not contributed any commentaries to any of her films. Why is that? I'd love to hear her talking about her own work. It's a shame she didn't do the commentary for Virginia Woolf - her own personal favorite. Anyone have an answer to this?
Andrew, I had no idea that The Driver's Seat is available. Are they Region 1 and if so, which is the best transfer? Hopefully widescreen? Thanks for any info.
Glad to see another Elizabeth Taylor fan here. She is horribly under-represented on DVD. One of my favorites you left off your list is Identikit aka The Driver's Seat (1975), unless this is currently on DVD?
This is a great CD. Since NYC does not have a full-time country station, a local college-based station picked up on it and has been playing it since it's release. This has definite country-sounding tracks sung in Loretta's inimitable way but is as different from Loretta's earlier releases as...
