Grain was never consistent scene to scene in a film of this budget and age.
Grain management has happened here and it's obvious.
If you like it or not is another thing, but it's not original
Trolling??? Grow up, it has too much DNR and is too sharpened for my liking, it's my opinion based on my preference and is no less valid than yours.
You like that the ball is still missing, and once again the colours have been changed? You like that detail is missing and is over sharp?
Then be...
It's the same bad snakewater Universal have been selling since Jaws.
Just like the Thing, as it is a little better than the old disc, does not make it good.
Breakfast Club and Jaws had issues people overlooked as they didn't look like their old discs.
This is the same thing, and a film that...
You said more may be seen in this disc release, as in the nipples.
I was saying that it will be identical to the DCP projected in 4k upscaled on the fly
This is the Mike and Dave review, I was mentioning that movie.
I had not realised everything has focused on the 2001 part of your review.
You imply that there is more detail on disc then seen theatrically, this is wrong in this case.
It's not a photochemical dupe
A brand new 4k projector
Showing the 2k dcp
In a brand new state of the art install
Will show less detail projected
Than this disc
With its more made upscale from 2k
Universal are clueless, people went nuts for Jaws and seeing that on the big screen before the disc hit showed the smearing and trails.
It's a shame that since universal screwed the original releases this and the Thing are given a pass as they are "better"
Sad really, it's like when people...
So my fair lady is not ok for HDR but Sony going all revionist on the audio and video is fine?
And the audio is placed where it should be?
Yeah everyone in the 80s loved that object based roof array sound
Do as I say don't do as I do?
IF TFE is really from the OCN why is the framing so close to the last master? It looks like the scan was from an Anamorphic IP at least a gen away.
Also why is it shapened?
The Gaumont has more detail and no sharpening, sure the contrast is a mess and the highlights blown but there is no way...
Well, I have not done this in a while
Recently lost my job :( so going to kick these back into life and rebuild them starting with this I was playing with today
Long time away from me, my PC died and I lost a lot of stuff.
My first WIP in a long time, bit of a block on the back, keep the cut out of just go for a semi normal back??
