Good projector for a bar & grill?

My brother-in-law is looking into getting some projectors for his bar & grill. Someone he talked to recommended a Mitsubishi model for around 2 grand. I haven't heard many people talk about Mitsubishi projectors, and wondered if there was anything especially different about a projector used at a...

New TV advice... ~18' viewing distance - want to purchase asap

I got the Mitsubishi 65315 a few months back, and I love it to death. It took me a while to figure out how to get the best pictures out of it, for instance when viewing SD cable channels, it was best to switch to 480i-wide, and switch to stretch, using the cable box, instead of the tv. Using the...

    HBO: Deadwood

We've just been spoiled with all the pretty talk in the Western's that we've seen to date. If you go back and read books written in the late 1800's, early 1900's that deal with real life America, it wasn't really pretty. Considering the setting they are in, it's like boy's being away from...

How many home remodeling reality shows do we need?

I'm proud to say that my wife has finally burned out on watching them. In the past, it was nothing but home makeover shows all day each weekend. I think that she eventually learned that her sitting around watching them wasn't going to make it magically happen around the house.

What subwoofer do you own? If not satisfied, what would you like to own?

I have a JBL PB10 going on year 2, works fine and blends in seamlessly with the rest of my system and gets a really flat responsive curve in my room. For that reason alone I'm fine for now with leaving it be.

AMD 64 - Sorting out the truths and advantages

Ron, While doing a search about DVD_X_Copy I came across a link for a program that is recommended for getting your system ready prior to burning, and devote resources to the burner, it's called WinTasks Professional 4.0 go to reviews(.)cnet(.)com/4505-5_7-20843233(.)html?legacy=cnet if you...

AMD 64 - Sorting out the truths and advantages

Perhaps I did not properly set that up. Ron stated that he did not like to shut down all of his running applications to burn cd/dvd's. I do not think the performance boost of more ram than he has, or a faster processor would be as cost effective as just having a cheap second system to burn...

AMD 64 - Sorting out the truths and advantages

Personally I would get a whole new system rather than pay for $400 worth of extra memory that may have a 10% increase in performance. Dedicate that system to burning cd/dvd's. For $600 you can either build your own or buy one. But I bet if you disabled the windows backup, and did it manually now...

AMD 64 - Sorting out the truths and advantages

Ron, Just as this forum has helped educate me about home theater products, I have a few places I recommend for gaining knowledge about computers... tomshardware(dot)com is an excellent source about computer hardware and peripherals. tomcoyote(dot)org (edit: site not working right now)...

Leave your comment about Bose car audio here

That's ok. But I happen to like mine. It's also hard to lump them all together into one category though. My wife's trailblazer has a totally different sound since that Bose package does not have a subwoofer. I happen to like the one in my truck better than hers, since the truck has the tweeters...

Leave your comment about Bose car audio here

I am uncertain why there is all the unecessary flaming about bose car audio. It is one thing to have a legitimate complaint about it, but to just say "it sucks" has no value whatsoever. I happen to like the Bose audio system in my 2003 Silverado. It is 10 times better than the stock cd player...

    Center channel speaker recommendations

The quality of the center channel speaker is extremely important for movies. The sub gets a good work out too, because the center channel frequently does not have range below 80 hz, sometimes even 100hz. The other thing to consider is front speakers that are voice matched so that moving sound...
