They finally got around to addressing Sam's "other" Dad - I was worried they just assumed we'd all forget about that. I am glad to see the Sock/Ted dynamic being extended - I hated that Andi found out so quickly about the sub-contracting because I wanted to see that go on for a while. Good stuff.
"The Road Warrior" on Blu. Seeing the texture of the road and the details I had never seen before, like REALLY being able to read all the signs and things. Blew the old DVD away and had me sold.
What an odd "discussion" thread. I saw this last night and really liked it - Stallone's commentary is well worth a listen as well. I was expecting all the mercenaries to be taken out and Rambo having to get the missionaries out on his own killing everyone in his path in the process. I was...
So how could Goodtimes put out a DVD with the original music but Universal can't? This movie was made in 1981 - were there not provisions in licensing agreements for home video by then? I don't understand why the music would have to be re-licensed by Universal but not Goodtimes.
I just saw a French horror flick called "Inside". I watch a lot of horror movies and I don't get disturbed by much but I thought this one was pretty intense. Don't want to give too much away but it involves a pregnant woman and a very disturbed home invader. On the lighter side, I really...

I finally got to see this after a "very long wait" from Netflix and loved it. The image quality didn't bother me as much as the lack of extras. The 30 minute doc was pretty good, but there was nothing about the film itself. Will this be revisited in the future do you think? This time with a...
That is awesome! Has he seen the Pirates of the Caribbean movies? My 3 year old daughter loves "Jack the Sparrow" and we watch these a lot along with Lady and the Tramp. How about: The Natural Fletch Hoosiers Second Hand Lions
They always buy a few copies of everything though - you usually have to wait a long time but they are there. Netflix does not generally upgrade any titles though if a better edition comes out (SD anyway), but I'm surprised they have Region 2 copies of anything.
I saw this last night and really liked it but my expectations were way too high I think. Very well done and well acted - a beautiful movie - but there was just something missing I can't quite put my finger on. I will definitely buy this when it hits BD.
This list will always be different but here's what I want to watch now (while stuck at work): Grandma's Boy Office Space Lost in Translation There will be Blood The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou The Adventures of Baron Munchausen 2001: A Space Odyssey A Night in Casablanca
Exactly how I felt. The scene on the beach with no cuts was technically impressive but that was it - it didn't add anything to the story. I will admit that the last five minutes or so were extremely effective and almost redeemed the movie...almost. I gave it 3 out of 5 at Netflix.
I think if Ned and Stacey had fared better on DVD Ned's love of Mr. Belvedere would have created a groundswell of support for the show - but alas...I'm still waiting on the rest of Ned and Stacey!
I liked Revolver. A great film and great DVD that I think EVERYONE should see is "The Nines" - written and directed by John August and starring Ryan Reynolds, Hope Davis and Melissa McCarthy. I loved this movie and can't say enough good things about it. Be sure to watch the short film on the...
I really enjoyed this as well. While somewhat predictable there were still enough fresh ideas to make this one a winner. alan Tudyk (who is not British) was great in this - he should be doing more work. Definitely worth checking out.
Here is a Hopkins quote from Wikipedia: "I'm fascinated by time. I've written a script about the nature of reality... It's about reality and the illusion of life because life to me, as I get older, is so illusion-like, so dream-like, that I think it's all a dream. It's about a man, who's...
I watched Slipstream last night - written and directed by Anthony Hopkins and I'm trying to decide what to make of it. I want this to be a discussion thread so there will be spoilers. I got a lot of the Hollywood satire aspects of the film; especially John Turturro's producer character. If...
For the Juno release there is a standard def DVD, a Digital Copy SE and a Digital Copy SE BD. What does the Digital Copy mean? Does it mean the film was shot on digital and then transferred directly to DVD or what?
