Directv is having problems with Pegasus also. I have read that they will no longer renew any contracts with them after the current one is up. Pegasus can burn in hell for their "take it or leave it" attitude as far as I'm concerned. I just hope directv will take us under their wing once pegasus...
Thanks, Shane. Do you know if most ppv movies are DD? Every once in a while I will notice in the info that some are, but not too often. Several say DD as the movies start. I assume that DTV broadcast them as such?
For over 5 years I have subscribed to Directv and have been pleased with it. I watch alot of sat tv except for my local channels. I do watch some PPV and have HBO. My question is: Is there enough Dolby Digital programs to justify upgrading to a DD sat receiver? I have noticed some ppv and HBO...
Do a search for "optical vs coax". There are numerous discussions. I too was wondering, but have determined from reading that there is really no difference in terms of quality.
I don't think you would be able to tell the difference in 5 watts. It really depends on how accurately they are rated. For example, the 90 watts I have now is much louder and clearer than the 100 watts my old Sony (non-es) did.
I too, was considering those two a little over a month ago. The onk has a learning remote, but the denon had a few more inputs and is a little more powerful (5 watts each channel). I was able to get the denon for $350 shipped from an auth. dealer (6thave) so I went that route. I have been happy...
The delay I'm referring to is only about 5 seconds long, where the volume is temporarily muted, for lack of a better term. It can be annoying, especially during dialogue. I notice this when swithching from something like PLII to Neo6, 6ch stereo, stereo, or direct; PLII music to cinema; and neo6...
The on screen display is a nice feature. You will either have to use the yellow rca or s-vid connection to your tv. I don't think the component connection will carry the signal (at least I haven't gotten it to). I have had the 1804 for about a month now and have been very pleased with it. The...
The on screen display and receiver display show simultaneoulsy, although the display is a little small on the receiver. It is hard to read from a distance.
The remote for my 1804 has a button on the second row from the bottom labeled "dimmer". It dims or turns off the display on my receiver. It could be the same for yours.
Mark, I too received the 1804 from 6ave for $350 shipped a few weeks ago. If you ordered the 1803, you get the 1804 at the same price. I'm guessing the deal is still going. I did notice that the 1803 price has gone up slightly since then. You should call them directly and ask for the deal. They...
Aside from being a certain distance from a wall, brace or sub, and the end being a certain distance from a wall, etc..., does it matter where a port is placed. Should it be installed on the same plane as the subwoofer or can it be on any plane. I am considering a downfiring design (similar to...
Thanks John, I was thinking that since these are car subs that the recommended enclosure dimensions were a compromise of some sort (size, cabin gain, etc...). I'll probably go with the larger box since room won't be of a concern.
By default, winisd says the tuning freq. is 24.41HZ in a 2.383 cu ft enclosure with (1) 4.02"x21.05" round vent. JL Audio recommends a 1.25 cu ft encl. with (1)3"x14.7" round vent which works out to be about 31HZ on winisd. I was wondering if 24HZ was too low (I know I would sacrifice SPL for a...
Without knowing about the deal, I ordered the 1803 for $350. When it arrived it was the 1804. A few others on this board have gotten the same deal. I know some have specifically asked for the deal, and they got it. You might try to call them to inquire first. I chose 6ave because they are an...
Just curious what tuning freq. you diyers are using for your vented home enclosures. I am in the planning/design stage of my first diy sub project (using winisd). I will be using a PE 250 plate amp, and 1 or 2 JLAudio 10" subs. Thanks.
I can't comment on any of those models, but I thought I would let you know that I just received the Denon 1804 for the price of the 1803 from 6ave (a denon authorized e-tailer). I have had it for four days now and have been happy with it so far. Hope this helps.
I just reveived the denon 1804 for the price of the 1803 (US $345)from 6ave. I ordered the 1803 and received the 1804 without asking about a "deal". This may be another option to consider, since you mentioned the 1804. Hope this helps.
