Your question is answered in the (quite good) featurette included on the disc. The director intended it to be a much more dreamlike sequence, so the DP had someone go grab a piece of screen and put it between the lens to make the soft/murky appearance that you see. As for the audio, I can't say.

Well...after auditioning the Titans and several other small bookshelf speakers, I settled on a set of Era Design 3's (with L, R, and C). Apparently these are a brand new product, but they sounded absolutely amazing for their very small size.

I'm thinking of the Paradigm Titans or maybe the Atoms with some floor stands. I live in the Seattle area and I've only found one Paradigm dealer in the area. Anyone know of more?

Just to let you know, I picked up The West Wing: Season 4 at Costco for $37.99. Normally, the B&M Costco warehouses are a few bucks cheaper on TV releases than they post on the costco.com website.
