It's a very good transfer. Paramount does not have the rights. They reverted to Coppola's American Zoetrope who licensed it to Lionsgate.

The Wild Bunch is already available on Blu-ray too, and Warner will be releasing White Heat on Blu via traditional retail channels in the second quarter of 2013.

The Blu-ray transfer is notoriously awful. It's 1080i, full of combing, and basically just a DVD upconvert. The American version is from a 30-year-old master. Criterion is doing new 1080p transfers and will surely include more thoughtful supplements.
