yeah i think its the entire backside of the cone. im not sure you really wanna risk that though. i almost did it to a sub i used to have but backed off, not risking lots of money to maybe hear a little difference. plus ive only heard of 2 people ever doing it. thats not very reliable.

what is a "true dedicated" center? does that mean they are not supposed to be used as L/R?

i have level three's on ebay right now, pretty cheap. it is a great speaker, especially for their 200 dollar price tag. great for HT.

i was planning to get the ascends until i read a review saying how good the energy's are. i listen to almost strictly music in a 2-channel setup. these are the same price, so which would you guys prefer? anyone hear both? p.s. i hate high shrill speakers. by the way, im using a harman hk3475...

i just purchased the HK3475 Stereo receiver and i need a cd player. i was looking at this one but i noticed it has only a 1-volt output. how will this affect performance? anyone have experience? thanks guys

then what could i get that would be better for stereo listening around the same price that has a sub output?

you get the most bang for your buck with a 2 channel. instead of paying to power 5 or 6 speakers, you can get a very powerful receiver to power 2 speakers for cheap. say denon for instance, their dra-685 is 100x2 and i can get it for 300$. if i were to get a denon surround receiver that powers...

but does doing that compromise performance?

im looking to get the Denon DRA-685 stereo receiver but it has no sub pre-out and i want to get a sub.what other ways can i hook the sub up? and will it compromise performance of the sub at all? by the way, the sub is a HSU vtf-2. thanks guys.
