Mitsu WS-A55 HD having display problem.....help!

Shazam! Thanks for the thoughts all. I checked on the basic visual settings, and Contrast was maxed, so I moved that down to about 50%. The thing that helped the most was moving the Brightness down. It's now at about 25%, and the blacks now look the way they should. Much happier, thanks...

Mitsu WS-A55 HD having display problem.....help!

Thanks for the reply Hugo. No, I have not calibrated my tv, I have no real idea how to. I can easily get to the settings, I'm just concerned that I'll mess up more than I fix. The "Avia" and "video essential" disk you mentioned, what do they do? Is that a DVD which automatically calibrates the...

Mitsu WS-A55 HD having display problem.....help!

Hello all, I recently bought a home theater with a Mitsubishi WS-A55 widescreen rear projection HD TV. The picture quality is nowhere near what I believe it should be. Just bought a new theater, a couple problems...Help!

Just bought a new theater, a couple problems...Help!

Thanks for the posts all, here's an update: Jeremy: your post seemed like the answer. This is a brand new system, but I had initially (for about 2 weeks) run it on a non-grounded outlet. In reflection, I do not specifically recall hearing the buzzing at first. I later had the outlet grounded...

Just bought a new theater, a couple problems...Help!

Thanks for the thoughts M. Rueben. I will look into the DVD player - I suspect this may not be a good model. I've read a bunch of people on these boards trashing it. It also has frozen up and skipped a few times already. Any thoughts on how to determine if I have a ground loop? Is there some...

Hello all, first off - I love that this forum exists. For people like me (those who don't know a thing about home theaters), this place is a Godsend. I just bought a home theater from Best Buy, and I'm having a couple problems. Here's what I bought: TV: Mitsubishi WS-A55 widescreen rear...
