well he said he doesn't want to round it over because it's a waste of time :) well, our half-way put together speaker sounded pretty nice... :emoji_thumbsup:
My dad is building the a/v 3's from gr research... we can't figure out what the following text in a diagram means .375" radius back side of woofer hole Any ideas? It seems to be the radius for the screws, what does back side mean?
I'm not quite sure what speakers yet... :) For now, I have some tiny Klipsch computer speakers on them, and I plan to upgrade to a larger DIY speaker set such as a/v 1+ or maybe one of dan's speaker designs (model 2).
oh, wow, brilliant... also, about the bed idea... where would the driver go? It would have to be recessed or something. I want to build one under my bed :) My computer/dvd station is right next to it :D
I don't think +/- 6 dB is bad if it's from your listening position...(in my opinion)...because I have trouble getting even +/- 10 :b I can't decide if I should use 2 subs, and maybe they would balance out better
I have noticed how the cut ends are textured different...so now, I just grab a can of Stone Creations... it covers up all my imperfections nicely :D :emoji_thumbsup:
I think Parts Express sells a 3 cubic ft box, ported, for their titanic driver...I suppose it would work out but I'm not going to say so because I'm a newbie :)
Thanks Anthony! Check out my new graph with all of your test tones... I just remembered those other test tones were not in the corner :b tell me if I need an EQ :) Click for graph
hehe...yeah, I was wondering how accurate the RS SPL meter was... :b ... I added 20 dB to 15 Hz as suggested by the correction values. I can't think of another place to put my subwoofer currently, though :frowning: I'm gonna re-measure it in the corner
I got some flat black spray paint...since most of my current stuff is just black. I liked that stone paint like yours, I used the black stone for my subwoofer...maybe I could paint the top and bottom with that. :)
I finished mine (not painted). I redid them, since my first design failed! Make sure you have at least 1/2" of MDF when you tighten the threaded rod ends. :) Click to view stand they are a little over 31" tall, 12" base, 9" top
Thanks for all of your suggestions! Yes, I should have mentioned that he wants to build his own enclosure... about 2.5 ft^3 before adding driver and plate amp should be close to what you guys are suggesting. Also, I think the Rhythmic amp is too expensive and he would rather not wait a month...
I think sealed. Suggestions for driver/amp? Trying to keep costs down low... like maybe $300 This is for my dad- I suggested a PE250 amp and 12" titanic mkii :) since I have these
Well, I hate filling these PVC stands with sand first of all, but... I was tightening the bolts which hold the endcaps on and then I hear a loud popping sound... so, a few minutes later I finally notice it had completely popped off the 3/8" of MDF between the PVC and the hole I drilled...
