Let me revise -on Disc 3 I get-the Workprint version-I get a typical Blu-ray loading symbol and it plays in DTS-HD format. Disc 2 is all in Dolby Digital-I think it's supposed to be. I finally got True-HD on Disc 1 by hitting the options button on my DVD remote (Sony 390-very current model) and...
Hi everyone. Recently I bought the 3(not 4 or 5) disc Blade Runner 30th anniversary set and it only plays in Dolby Digital, whereas from what I've read it's supposed to be in True-HD. The case it comes in has no info. I checked all connections and played other BD's with True-HD and had no...

Saw it last night. Great movie. Cronenberg's a genius. I knew it was gonna be ugly when they were standing outside the house you could just feel the air of menace around Tom/Joey. What a great performance by Viggo Mortensen. The serial killers were scary as hell. Ed Harris was great. All kinds...
OK here's a couple other things that bug me: Tom Cruise in just a few minutes, walks, WALKS down to where the first Tripod emerges. The thing pops up etc. and immediately starts causing death and destruction which made LOTS of noise. Cruise runs home and his kids are oblivious to what just...
The 50's version was better. This version, considering what can be done with special effects today, was only fair. I'm hearing a lot of people rave about the sound but IMHO those Foghorns don't compare to the creepy, unforgettable sounds in the original. People have said there was nonstop terror...
Very cool movie. Twohy is very gifted-between this, the Arrival, and Pitch Black I've never been let down-always felt entertained. I love the weird weapons he comes up with like the "vacuum ball" in The Arrival and that roman candle thing in COR. The whole look of the Necromongers' (the name is...

I watched the DVD (bought it) last night and while I was turned off the first time I saw it for some reason I really really liked it on DVD! I guess it took a second viewing to be appreciated.
I don't know if it is available nationwide but there is this ticket service called "Fandango" where you can buy tickets online in advance and they have these moronic commercials before every and any movie at the theater. Everyone has seen them 20 times already.
All I can say is Bore, James Bore. Yawwwnnnnnnnn. Only great Bond movies were Goldfinger and Thunderball. Coburn was 10 times cooler than Connery. When Coburn is dancing with the chicks during the swinging party scene it is the epitome of 60's go-go swinging-can you imagine Connery doing that...
I have always loved the Flint films especially the first. It's sense of humor and great cast (Lee J. Cobb and James Coburn) not to mention extremely cool music (I listen to the soundtrack all the time)make it a cut above any Bond, Matt Helm, or any others of the spy genre. It's got it all-hokey...
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly where Eli Wallach is running around the graves looking for the one with the gold-incredible music in that scene- The opening scene in Superman again the music is perfect with the first shots of Krypton and that dome- The end of Psycho where the skull of...
>I thought it was a good movie, not the great movie i was expecting to see based on the reviews, previews, etc.< Exactly what I think. It was also a work of pure fiction in as far as it supports the old myths about the nobility of the English and the willingness of the crew to follow noble...
I think the scene where Tuco runs around the graveyard looking for the right grave is one of the greatest scenes ever filmed in a western. The music during that scene-titled "The Ecstacy of Gold" on the soundtrack-is simply awesome. Great movie.
I have a very similar Wharfedale 8.3 system in my bedroom to what Chad describes and it sounds like it should've have cost a couple of grand. The Diamond 8's are an incredible value. They are simply the best value in budget speakers out there.
I think the Athenas sound really good. For the money there just isn't anything close. Check out this review http://www.goodsound.com/equipment/athena_asf2.htm
I have a full Diamond setup-8.3's mains,Diamond center and 8.1's rear. My receiver is a Yamaha rx793. There is no brightness whatsoever-just clean clear natural sound. I don't think brightness is a worry with the Diamonds thanks in part to their great silk dome tweeters. Diamonds are great...
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sloppy things like this make me feel like Ang Lee didn't really respect the material and just wanted to do something experimental to feed his own ego instead of making a film that was true to the essence...
When I first saw River's Edge, which I thought was an excellent movie-I thought Keanu Reeves would someday be a star. Well I was right-but it turns out that that movie was probably his only decent performance in a film.
Hated it!!!!!! Who the hell thought of the idea of all the inmates and their "religion"? Why would anyone think that would be interesting to fans of the first 2 movies? This is what happens when sequels are made by idiots who were outside of the original. I thought I was watching some lame BBC...
