I purchased season 1 and 2 on blu-ray on Amazon and got 30 off. I wonder if that's because I've purchased season 3 a long time ago on there. Almost got hoodwinked as my original order (made eons ago) did not have the discount. I was going to pay $98 before I replaced the order!

It's annoying they didn't put these out in steel books. Despite the fact they make no difference to their ability to be kept on a shelf, I prefer some uniformity. Sigh.

Pretty much. Amazon is more lenient than most outfits, though. The whole opened thing has bitten me several times at Best Buy which is why I was whiney about it earlier in the thread. I generally rely on multiple reviews before I buy something but I had preordered this movie.

I returned mine to Amazon as "defective" and listed the waxy DNR as the explanation. It was unopened.

I still have not opened mine but I am inclined to return it to amazon. Still can't get a firm review on it.

Why did they feel the need to cram this with so much stuff that the bit rate is only 18mbps? Some of my other blu-rays are 34!

I figured as much. Given how much I loathe the compression, clipping and other maximization placed on popular music CDs, I find the low volume mastering of Blu-Ray HD tracks pleasant. Unfortunately, I occasionally forget how loud I turned the receiver up when I switch back to cable TV. Yikes...

I have to turn all of my Blu-Rays to a much higher decibel than regular DVDs. Is that a compression related issue?

On my first gen PS3, pressing the angle button on the Bluetooth remote gets the picture switch for only a second or two and then it switches back. Can't get it to stay there.

Unfortunately I do not know enough about SMPTE to form any kind of intelligent reply. The framing is still dubious in my opinion, but that is nothing more than what 'looks' logical to me in terms of framing. Thank you for the heads up, though. Interesting nonetheless.

Vincent, I agree about the audio. Since Blue Underground's inception, their MO appears as if no original audio will ever be included. Most of the time you get, as you said, multiple mixes in DTS and Dolby for no obvious reason. There is plenty of room for a simple mono mix, even in Dolby...
