Rather than using the receiver to run the surround back channels of my AVR 8000, Ive decided it would be much easier to purchase a two channel amp instead. What you get is a reliable, warm sounding reciever that was the flagship prior to the 7000, my 8000 and now the 7200. It is kind of bare...
For sale is one Definitive Technology Pro sub 100. 250W 10" sub in black. This is a nice little sub, and while it is no SVS, it could surely tide you over untill you can afford to upgrade to a super sub. Im asking 250.00 plus shipping from zip code 85743. Email me at [email protected]...
Ive noticed that when popping in a DVD and the 8000 starts to read the bitstream It will flash some thing like "offset +3db" or "offset -6db" . Anyone know what it is doing? No mention of this in the manual.
Lawrence of Arabia looks damn good. Especially since it's over 40 years old. Damn, that movie just screams for a front projector: and a 120" screen Ah... someday:frowning:

It's nice to see a movie that actually uses those boxes that sit on our back walls that many have paid several hundred dollars for!!!.:emoji_thumbsup: A GREAT 5.1 mix !
Tears of the sun joins the a small club of moivies that can bottom out my SVS. How's that that for bass??!!!;) It's a pretty dynamic track. I wouldnt feel ashamed to use it as a demo for my system. I made this a blind purchase, and glad to see that I didnt waste fifteen bucks. I see an...

i hope you guys are right. Never ordered from mysony before so have no idea what to expect. Afterall, not everybody gives great service like SVS! Just found it a little weird that I have heard NOTHING from them since I ordered. Ive kind of become accoustomed to being able to check on order...
as the days tick by, I have a feeling that Sony is going to hose us on this one. I ordered mine a week and a half ago and still nothing. It's almost like they are pretending the orders never happened.:frowning: Picked my copy up at taget on sat. just to cover my bases, but I get the feeling...
small. Dont let their stated freq. response fool you. I have all of my def tecs set to small. Leave the low stuff for your sub and not only will it sound better, it'll give your amps a rest.
Big markups... gotta pay for all of those full page ads! Despite the markup, at least they dont give us Bose sound. Really the best prices for def tecs are ebay. Just be careful, and you can find some great deals especially on the BP 6,8,10,20,30's
I guess I have TOO much of a soft spot for these movies. Just did a check on ebay and cant believe the prices some of these things are fetching. Sometimes it's sooooooooo tempting to let go of it for 200 bucks, since it's primary usage is three movies. :frowning:
EX is noting more than a matrixed sixth channel. My AVR8000 has THX EX but Im still using it in 5.1 mode. Some people enjoy those extra channels, while most feel that 5.1 is still plenty. Let us know what setup you choose.
I have my PC+16-46 about three feet from my wega and no problems whatsoever. BTW I have a Polk cs400 I wouldnt mind parting with if i could find a match for my BP8B's for a decent price.:)
Get the PC+ :) I just recieved my 16-46PC+ last week (review pending) and you can't beat the ability to tweek the thing (variable phase, subsonic filiter, auto on....etc.) I highly doubt you will be disappointed. Yet be prepared for a slight shock when the UPS guy brings it to the door.(along...
welcome to world of REAL bass :frowning: I just recieved my SVS 16-46PC+ a couple of days ago and the "old bass" all but disappeared. what I was left with was clean sound that sounded like a great pair of full range speakers. It's taken some getting used to. I had a Deftec prosub 100 and I...
