My old receiver (Onkyo TX-NR818) died a while back. I’ve been through some rough times where I couldn’t afford to replace it. Now I can and I’ve been out the audio game for a while. I currently have an 7.1 surround system with axiom speakers and an SVS subwoofer. Hoping someone hear could point...
Yes, i did read that thread. then I read another thread that mentioned the horrible lag problems and screen tearing on the Samsung. I do game quite a bit, so a smaller lag time is optimal.
Im in the market for a new tv. I thought I had it narrowed down to a samsung lcd un60f8000. Then i started reading about how much better a plasma tv is, so i started looking at them. Then I narrowed it down to a panasonic tc-p60zt60. The I read the samsung pn64f8500 was possibly better than...
Oh wow, i feel pretty sheepish. I have read about audyssey but have never used it. On my current receiver i just used the test tones and a sound meter.
wow, i never really thought about all that. I don't need zone 2, I don't plan to use an amp so I don't really have an immediate need for pre outs. The height and width is not really an issue, as it will be sitting on a shelf with nothing above it. I would like to be able to interface with...
I am in the market for a new tv. I have looked at the Samsung UN60F8000 and I really like it. But i read about the panel lottery and flashlighting and clouding...ugh, it boggles the mind. Lately I have been reading about how plasmas seem to still be viable options. So I have been researching the...
I am upgrading my home theater equipment and I am looking at receivers. Currently I have a onkyo tx-sr805. I have old axiom m60 speakers. but I am planning on upgrading my speakers also. Just curious which receiver would you guys consider to be the better performer.
thanks for answers in advance
Currenlty I have an old pair of axiom m60's, a vp100, and 3 qs4's. Im looking for the mains right now and probably will pick up the center channel that goes with the mains.
My budget is between 1700-2000 for the mains. I dont really know whats out there. I do like my axiom m60's and the new m80...
Thanks for all your help guys. I went out and bought the addon. Plus I got Heroes S1, Planet Earth, and the Matrix trilogy for free. You should have seen the cashier's mouth drop when my amount went from 400 dollars down to 197.
I'm looking into buying the hd-dvd addon for my 360. I keep reading that it doesn't support Truehd audio. Is this a gamekiller, or can I live without it?
I will be purchasing a PS3 soon. My television only has 1 DVI-D output, which the Comcast HD box is running too. I also plan on buying a HD-DVD player in the near future. My receiver is a Denon 3805. How do I get all this stuff to play nice together and be hooked up to my tv at the same time...
I currently have a Sony KF60WE610, I think it has capability to play 1080i, but Im not sure. Any have one that is connected to a HD dvd player. Also it only has one DVI port, would that be a problem? Here is a link to the review of the televison...
I really like my Axioms. I guess I just had a bigger better syndrome. I thought if I liked these, then imagine what higher end speakers would sound like.
I already own an SVS PB2-ISD. This is in a 14x20 room. I know I don't need the extra bass, but would it make a difference if I got the Dayton? I mean at 109 dollars, I'm just wondering if I could fit it in my system.
The wife and I made a little trip to Circuit City. In one corner the had the Sony GWIII 50 inch, the 60 inch Sony XBR950, and the Hitachi 50 inch LCD. In the little couch area right next to other tv's were a 50 inch Panasonic LCD and 43 inch Samsung DLP. All the TV's were on HD CBS and were...
I am about to come into some money. So after paying off bills, and putting some away(wife's idea). I am going to upgrade my home theater. Here is what Im looking at. Sony KF60WE610 Axiom M80ti QS8 VP150 SVS PB2-ISD subwoofer Denon 3803 or Yamaha RX-V2300 Denon DVD-910 What do you...
I have the same speaker set. And I used this mounts. The speakers have a keyhole mount on the back. However none of the screws in the mount package fit the keyhole. So I took off the keyhole mount and attached the bracket that came with the above speaker mounts. Worked like a charm.
Yeah, I would go with Onkyo. As I said earlier, I have the speaker system and I absolutely love it. And yes the rears do mount on the wall. I had to go to radioshack and by speaker mounts. They weigh about 4.5 pounds each. And they go up very easily. Hope this helps.
Hi Chuck, I was in your shoes about 2 days ago. I was all set to pick up the onkyo system. Until I hopped on here to do some research on it. Thats when I found out about the problem the receiver has producing LFE in mode 3. What I did instead was to buy just the speakers ($269 at...
I finally got my new HT system. Its nothing really elaborate. I wanted to get the Onkyo HT-650 HTIB. But I read about all the problems members have been having with the receiver. So this is what I got Onkyo SKSHT500 speaker set(swapped out the mains for my Cerwin Vega RE30's) Yamaha HTR-5540...
