    Comast HDTV Failed Install

I got the Comcast HDTV installed this morning, took about 20 minutes and the Comcast employee even brought the component video and toslink cables. Works great, but I have a question regarding my Toshiba 43" TV...it's a 4:3 since I watch more TV than movies. Since there wasn't a manual with...

Question for owners of KEF Q series

Donald, I auditioned the Q3s, 5s, and 7s. The 7s sounded the best hands down. Mine are approx. 16" away from the front wall, but I am running the port plugs in the rear (for the 6x9 'racetrack' woofers). See pic: (hit refresh a few times if it doesn't load) In this configuration...

Question for owners of KEF Q series

I bought the Kef Q-Series right after Thanksgiving.... Q7 Mains Q1 surrounds on 36" stands Q9c center Powered by an el cheapo Denon AVR 2802 in a 5000sq foot room (15x20 w/ 20ft cathedral ceiling) they sound great for both HT and music (including multi-channel). I am getting ready to buy...

    25-31 PC-Plus Review

I have the 25-31PC+ in a 5000+sq ft room (20x15 w/ 20 ft. vaulted ceiling) and it's impressive to say the least. I have it tuned to 20Hz, and it hits hard and deep. But now you have me curious, I think I'm going to try the 25Hz tune and see how I like it. Regards, Sean in Nor Cal

How does a 2531 PC+ (tuned to 20 HZ) compare with...

I can't answer your question directly, but I have owned both a 25-31PCi (22Hz tune) and now a 25-31PC+ (tuned to 20Hz). They are both awesome subs, but the PC+ will go a bit deeper, and it definitely plays louder. The 25-31PC+ plays the loudest of all the PC+ and PCi series. Sean in Norcal

    KEF vs. B&W

I auditioned the entire 600 Series more than a few times. They are a nice sounding speaker, and extremely well built, but I felt they didn't sound as clear as the KEFs. Since both the KEFs and B&Ws are British speakers, they're not *entirely* different sounding, but in the end I though that...

    KEF vs. B&W

IMO the KEF Q-Series lines up more closely to the B&W 600s... I chose the Qs (Q7/Q1/Q9c) over the B&Ws back in November. I'm very happy with my selection. I did not get a chance to audition the XQs, I don't think they were out 3-4 months ago. Regards, Sean Lewis Kef Q7/Q1/Q9c w/ SVS...

    $1200 for home theatre speakers....

Taylor, For around $1200 on 5 speakers, I'd consider the Kef Q-Series: KEF Q5s $665 KEF Q1s $345 KEF Q9c $285 Total: $1295 I agree with the others, you'd need a decent receiver to drive them...the Denon 2802 is now available on line for $469, it's makes enough real world power to...

Denon 2802: Can anyone explain this?

I have a 2802, and I don't plug anything into the electrical outlets on the back. I use my Denon several hours per day, and haven't had ANY problems. I just spent the last two nights watching the extended edition of FOTR and it was flawless. Unfortunately, I can't help you with your...

    "all channel stereo" mode

I use 5-channel 'stereo' mode on my Denon 2802 quite frequently, however when I want to really sit down and listen to a CD I will play it in DIRECT mode utilizing the mains and sub only. Dolby PLII doesn't work very well with music IMO, it does much better with TV/movies. I have recently...

Looking for 2 channel amp to work w/ my Denon...

I am interested in adding an affordable 2 channel amp (150-200w @8ohm) to my current HT setup so that I can offload the mains (Kef Q7s) from my Denon 2802. I will be using the 2802 as the processor for the amp. I have been told several times that my KEF’s will respondly nicely to some real...

    Newbie's SVS question

I have a 25-31PC+ in a 6000sq foot room -- 20x15 w/ 20 ft vaulted ceiling, and I'm very happy with the performance. On the really low LFE stuff, I can feel the bass in my seat, my pants leg, etc...this is with the 25-31 tuned to 20Hz. Sure two 25-31s side by side would be awesome, but I'm...

    SVS 25-30PCi @ 22hz ?

I think it's also noteworthy that ordering the 22Hz version isn't a permanent decision, I believe the port plug can be removed turning it back into a 25-31PCi. If you're unsure, email SVS and get the scoop... Sean in Nor Cal Denon 2802--KEF Q7/Q9c/Q1--SVS 22-31PCi Toshiba 43" HDTV, Panny CP-72k

    Wharfedale Speakers at Best Buy

I've auditioned the Wharfdale Diamond 8s locally here in the Bay Area. Nice speaker, nothing exceptional, but an *excellent* value. If you're on an EXTREMELY tight budget, this may be a great choice. However, I was much more impressed with the Wharfdale Pacific Evos and the KEF Q-Series that I...

Warm mains, Denon 2802 and low volume questions

Max, I bought a Denon 2802 a month ago online for $469, brand new "A" stock factory sealed. It works fine at moderate and low volumes, and I have yet to find it lacking at higher volumes either. I have KEF Q-Series Q7/Q1/Q9c speakers and a SVS Subwoofer. Generally, the more efficient a...

    Alternatives to B&W...suggestions???

If I had a buddy who was a Paradigm Dealer, I'd be looking real hard at their reference series...(provided you get a deep, deep discount). I myself recently purchased KEF Q-Series (Q7/Q9c/Q1) after auditioning Paradigm Monitors, B&W 600s, Def Tech, Monitor Audio, Klipsch, and a few others...

    Problem with Panasonic DVD-CP72

I bought a CP72 from Onecall about 3 weeks ago, and have used it extensively since then. I am using A/R Pro Component cables and haven't had any problems with PQ at all. My only gripe so far is that I have to go into the setup menu and switch DVD-Video mode to ON (each time) to get a Dolby/DTS...

Kef Q Series Are Good For Marantz 7200?

Simone- I've listened to all the new KEF Q-Series, and I would strongly recommend the Q5 over the Q3 for your mains...the Q3s are simply Q1s in a taller cabinet. The Q5 adds a 6.5" woofer for deeper bass--they're quite a bit punchier. The Q1s do great as surrounds... Here are some pics of my...

    Who has SVS photographs?

Not sure what the problem is, I think it's related to RoadRunner. Anyway, the solution is to simply paste the URL into a new browser window and the pics directory should come up fine. I've integrated the SVS sub into my room as best I can, I don't have alot of choices with regard to...
