You might get a little better response /clarity etc from the Outlaw processor, but I dont think $900 worth.I googled your receiver, and it seems like a good one. Before I gave up on the Yamaha I would get all the adjustment issues fixed. One thing I would recommend is dont use any of their "special"...
I did some research on the Dayton amp,the cut opp is at 18hz.I can use the parametric EQ to add 6 dB and set it at wide bandwidth, and bring my F3 down to near 20 hz at around 114 dB.Not too bad I would think, since most movies dont go much lower.
I finally really tested the Titanic after doing Roberts port modification.I shut off the other 2 amps so there was nothing but sub wooferI put in "War of theWorlds" 3 rd scene with the lightning strikesIt actually hit 116 dB at my seating position a couple of times!I thought the house was coming...
another thing to remember is the affordable separates like you or I could get,Rotel etc, wont have the latest up to date sound processes.I am about to upgrade to a receiver so I can get the new Dolby Hd,and DTS hd sound capabilities.I checked the latest Rotel, and nothing they have has these...
Meyham Only problem is I have NO woodworking esperience, been an auto mechanic all my life, and the extent of my woodworking skills is putting in the port in my Titanic.I agree,Robert is rocket scientist smart when it comes to subwoofers,I ha ve learned so much from our private messages with...
I am thinking of doing the same thing with my 1055 Rotel, and get an upper end Marantz.I really like the Rotel ,and would like to stay with their gear, but they are getting so far behind on the lastest High def dolby and DTS .I dont look to see Rotel getting caught up for at least a year. When I...
After getting the proper port length needed from Robert J,the Titanic turned into a budget sub monster,Here is a simulation RobertJ did to get the most out of my undersized box I watched Titan AE this morning ,and WOW ,it was rattling the whole house.I was watching it 10 dB below...
I use 12 ga on all my speakers, you can get it pretty cheap at places like Home Depot and Lowes.I wouldnt spend a lot on a sub cable,it dosnt take much to make the sub happy.A decent cable from Radio shack or that price range will do just fine, Greg
I just want to thank Robert_J for taking all the time to fix my attempt to turn my Titanic to a ported sub.I was working off some misinformation on the project.he took the time to run computer sims to get me the right port size etc,and pretty much walked me through the hole thing.so once...
So right now its right up close to the lower end SVS stuff ,not bad for a $4 piece of tube.My room is about 15x12,so right now it gets pretty darn loud.I had to move it after I ported it it .My whole back side of the room a sliding glass door and window, and it was making the glass make some...
its not going to win any beauty contests, but it sure thumps now!I will fit the tube in farther later, didnt want to go all the way,as its real tight and a bear to get in and out.
robert, yes, sounds much different.watched Star Trek Voyager today, and the ships background noise was much more noticable, also seems to have more punch. It just sounds better overall. Thanks for taking the time to walk me through all this. What would this sub be comparable to in commercial...
ok Robert.I had enough tube to make a 17 in port, most of it sticks out,not pretty ,but it works for now.One question, will the anti clipping feature of the dayton amp stop the sub from bottoming out.It seems to be deeper now and hav less varience on scened I am familar with, spl stays the...
robert, so is the first graph what my current set up is.?and the second, the optimal with a longer port tube? by what I see I have a lot of output around 30-40 hz,but it dies down low, correct? So by adding an 18 tube to my approx 19 in cube,I will get what your second graph shows?Sorry for the...
Robert.would I be able to remedy thing s some by making the single port longer?and how much longer would I need.I have had it cranked hard, and noticed no unusual port noises,or signs of driver damage,so I guess I have been lucky. What does my sub model at right now as it is? Thanks Greg
with thse old JBL's as front channels,I am not lacking for bass to badly. They are JBL L150a's,that were completly rebuilt about 5 years ago,anf are in mint condition
Hi guys.I bought one of the Parts Express 15in 1000 w titanic kits a few years ago,and it thumped pretty good for a sealed box design, but after a few years I got bored with it.Rather than invest in a new sub.I called the P.E. tech line ,and had them run the simulattions for how much port tube...
DAMN!!! Poor guy posts that he got a new sub,and likes it....... somehow turns into a 7 page train wreck! Glad you like your new sub,new "toys" are great fun. I got a Parts Express 15 in Titanic sub kit towards the end of summer, really like it.The way this thread turned is exactly why I...
for their front l/r channels?I recently picked up a MINT pair of JBL L150A towers.I traded a set of Mordaunt-Short MS 908's for them.I am really having a blast with them.Had been recently refoamed, and cabinets are darn near perfect.Using a Rotel RSX1055 reciever with a 130w Rotel amp for...
