Positive comments like that make for an easy decision, and it seems the most economical way to get into separates. The only drawback I see is a 44 pound pre/pro, but for $600ish it seems like it can't be beat, a giant killer perhaps. Thanks for the quick responses, and let the amp hunting begin.

I think it would be very interesting to see a head to head comparison of the Sony DA4ES(as a pre/pro only), Outlaw 950, or even Rotel 1066 and maybe some other dedicated pre/pros. It would interesting to see the results of such a test when comparing the Sony against some of the entry level...

SVS 20-39 PCi in great condition, would like it to have the ISD which is the Improved Standard Driver that comes with all newer SVS PCi's.

I would say a warm sound. NAD really plays music very well, opposed to the 3803 which I would say leans toward the home theater department more and has a slightly brighter or "sharper" sound that may be more at home with movies. However, I am not putting down the 3803 in the music department...

Matt, What is the glum face for? Did the DLS not live up to expectations? I was thinking about picking up a couple of these for a 15 x 22 room.

The T762 power supply could walk all over the 3803, the new NAD units have power supplies that are rated with all channels driven simultaneously. I have the 752 and I love it. The 3803 and NAD are quite different animals though, you should really audition them to hear the differences.
