Anybody else's AV15's have scratches on the cone?(pics included)

Each of my four AV15's have varying degrees of minor surface imperfections. Nothing near as bad as what your pictures show. Cosmetic blemishes don't bother me in the least...attic IB so my drivers won't be seen.

Quick AV-15 question beforre it goes off sale

I received all four of my AV15's last week. I'm extremely pleased with the quality of the drivers. Packaging was a little on the flimsy side and thus quite beat up...but the drivers seem to be okay. The few times I needed to talk to John he was a little slow responding...but not a big deal...

    Stryke AV12's delayed

Brian, thanks for the info. My amp needs 4 ohms or higher bridged or 2 ohms stereo. With four AV15 connected as two independent loads (stereo) I can either choose 2.97 ohms (parallel+series) or 0.745 ohms (parallel). 0.745 ohms is too low and 2.97 ohms limits power. If bridged as single load I...

    Stryke AV12's delayed

What's the true resistance of the AV15 voice coil? I've heard 2/4 ohm DVC but the Stryke website shows 2.97 ohms. My amp does 2kW at 4 ohms bridged or 2 ohms both channels but less with higher resistance. I've ordered four AV15's so if they are 2/4 ohms I can get full power. If they are...

    Stryke AV12's delayed

I've got four AV15's on order...that's bad news about the voice coils, etc. Stuff happens. If it takes six months to get every thing in order so be it. Quality over speed anytime. Besides I wouldn't want to ship 200+ pounds of drivers back ;)

    how low can u go?

There's no replacement for displacement... Guys, don't forget what we are looking for is maximum volume of air displaced. In terms of T/S this is Xmax*2*Sd (be sure to use consistent units). It's not a simply Xmax or cone area...it's the product. Also, Xmax should be used instead of Xsus...

Check out this new 12" driver

Last post was over 10 days ago. Unacceptable! ;) John, any updates on the AV15's? I preordered four without logo (at least I put that in the comment area...is that sufficient?). I'm in no hurry - still 3-4 months from completion of new house. -Rusty Boudreaux
