After some thought and the replies that I got, I decided to take another aproach to the project, so I don't really need this anymore. I decided I should apply more of my time to my actuall engineering classes. Thanks for the help though -Mike

    marketing project help

Hey everyone. I am in a marketing class right now where I have to do a project on a product. I chose paradigm speakers cause I am pretty familiar with them, along with some of their competition. I am working on making a "perceptual map" of speakers. This is basically a graph of a speakers...

    Looking For a Subwoofer

I would go sealed. To build a perfect ported box for a specific sub is too much work for what you are looking for. I also agree that image dynamics are a great value for the sound.

    FS: Dayton Sub

Dave Is this still available? I live in South Eastern Michigan. If it is still available, could I come buy for a demo, and if I like it, pick it up for say $80 since I am saving you on shipping? Let me know. Email [email protected]

My 5 favorite DVD-Audio and SACD albums

Would someone who loves the Linkin Park Reanimation DVD-A like the blue man group one? I have never really heard any of there stuff. Linkin park is by far my favorite. It is the only one I have that actually takes advatage of having 6 channels. Others I like are: Then three doors down...

Fraternity house speakers on a budget

HAHAHA! We go to an engineering school, so girls are few and far between. A good portion of us have girlfriends from other schools. Studying definitely takes up a lot of time, but when we need a break, and it is too early to start partying, it is nice to sit down and watch a movie every now and...

Fraternity house speakers on a budget

I( am not looking for party speakers. We have pro concert speakers in our basement. They include two sets of 4 15" servo driven subs in huge boxes. I looked into Klipsch at a local home audio place and they did not have something comparable to what we had within the pricerange. I heard...

Fraternity house speakers on a budget

Being one of the home theater gurus in my fraternity, I was given the task of finding new speakers for our living room. After begging our treasure quite a bit, I managed to get a budget of $400. We have a center channel and two surround speakers already. The receiver is a pioneer VSX D812. The...

Suggestions for a "cheap/decent" digital camera for taking DIY pic's?

Geoff, First I personally would not buy a digital camera just to post DIY shots. That is just me though. I use my camera all the time. Ia m sure as long as you learn how to properly use the camera, you would use it for more too. I used to work at Target in electronics, and a vendor from Kodak...

    got my svs 20-39 today

Hey guys, I was not trying to bash sv subs at all. I am sorry if I came off that way. I should have mentioned before that the only calibration I have done so far was by ear. I know that I need to pick up a spl meter and that it will make a difference. I was simply stating my first impressions...

    got my svs 20-39 today

ok, first of all you guys are way to defense of sv subs. Second after realizing that the sub setting on my reciever was at +10 dB, and after listening to it for a while and possibly so breaking in, I am really warming up to the sound. Dustin, IDQ is the driver, and the enclosure is costum...

    got my svs 20-39 today

My first reaction was; they sent me the 16-46 by accident, this is way to big, then I measured it I realized I got the right one. I think it is going to be too big for the room in my frat house. So far I am not that happy with the sound. It is loud, but I don't think it is that musical. Maybe...

    My subwoofer dilemma, paradigm/svs

well, I made the pludge, I just ordered a 20-39PCi. I think I still may bring home the ps1000 to compare the two, but from what I heard I think I know which I will be keeping. This addiction to great sound is going to bankrupt me soon.

Any one else have an opinion? What I really need to know is which svs I should get to compare the paradigm to.

    My subwoofer dilemma, paradigm/svs

I should also add that I live in a frat house every other 3 months and the sub will be in a room about 16'x8'. Since I am moving often, size does matter, although very little. My budget is around $500. O, and once I buy this, my spending on HT is done for a few years, really, I swear. I need to...

    My subwoofer dilemma, paradigm/svs

Ok, so I went an heard a few subs and decided so far I like the paradigm ps1000 best. I also have mini monitors, so if it really does make a difference, they should blend really well. The problem is I want to wiegh all my options, so I need to hear an equivlent svs sub. The probelm is I can't go...
