the 3802 provides a dimension of clarity for that price that you would be hard-pressed to find in other receivers at that price point. sure.. you could go separates and get a smaller HK unit or even a smaller denon... but, you're getting so much more clarity in the sound from that 3802 than you...
the mp3s are all ones i have downloaded.. they sound fine when i play them on my computer, or when i convert them to burn onto a cd. however, when i play them in the dvd player, i hear some strange sounds... i may just try replacing the dvd player- maybe it is jacked. p
wow... what do you do for a living that you own all of these components... my guess- you're single... without a pet. living with the parents.. damn, i wish i could afford some of those toys. nice selection. p
i like the 3802. it smells nice when you take it out of the package, and has some serious power. the only thing i dont like is the small volume display on the lcd... that's really the only complaint i have. not too bad.. p
i recently purchased a toshiba dvd player which allows me to play mp3s. however, when i listen to the mp3s on my stereo (playing through the dvd player) - i hear weird popping sounds on a great number of songs. it almost sounds like a scratch on a turntable... its very odd... i dont know if it...
mickes- so, i borrowed my brother's pedal and went to radio shack and got the stereo 1/4 to the rcas... works nicely as a backup amd so that i dont have to lug the amp from one house to the other when i go on vacation. thanks for the advice- it was solid. p
mickes- is this pedal made to be connected to your receiver? does it have RCA outputs, or did you just buy an rca to phono (i think that's the size) connection? thanks- peter
ok- my brother is retarded. he just didn't crank the volume up enough... he had it at around -40... of course, no sound, and he assumed it had blown... funny thing is- he had the dimmer set to turn off 5 seconds later... so, he just assumed it was turning off. i went over there and laughed...
so- i'm not crazy... this is an actual problem that people have. mike- did you ever get it to go back to normal??? i mean, did it go into standby mode before and then were you able to correct it somehow? i have no idea why it would do this. i'm running 2 8ohm speakers, and an svs sub... very odd...
the problem is that it seems like those frequencies (30-60hz) sound much CLEANER coming from the dvds... my friend brought over a nine inch nails DVD (i don't know which one it was) - but the bass was unreal. i guess what i don't understand is why the signal is not being sent to the sub... i...
paul.. i'm not TOOOO sure that it was on amp.. i can almost guarantee that it was. nonetheless, why would the receiver go back to standby mode. i even turned on the receiver using the old fashion 'walk up and turn it on' routine, and it still went out. p
i'll try it tonight and update you guys... first thing i'll do is disconnect EVERYTHING from the receiver and see if it still comes up on standby- if so... its out the door. p
so my new 3802 was running great for about a week.. now when i turn it on, it comes on- but then goes into standby mode... should i return it- or is there a way to check it before i send it back? should i try a system reset on it? if so.. how do i do that? has anyone else had a similar...
hey guys- quick question. i've been listening to some music on my new 3802... including my svs sub. problem is this - on movies, the sound is amazing... fight club for example... the last scene shakes the house. but then, i throw in a cd into the dvd player, and i'm not getting the kind of bass...
i'm having the same problem on my 3802- my brother was trying to watch tv today, and he said it would turn on for about 5 seconds, and then go to standby mode.... i wasn't there- so i'll look into it tomorrow. i know everything is corrected properly- so, maybe when i get there, i'll disconnect...
i know what you're saying... i was really concerned about buying the 3802 and really considered the yamaha line due to their capacity to switch between 4 and 8 ohm... i'm going to purchase my axiom speakers (m80s) which are 4 ohm and wire them to the amp. apparently many people have had success...
this thread has been dead for a while- but, i'd like to add a few bands...
first, i can't believe that JAWBREAKER was left off of the list. blake schwarzenbach almost single handedly revived a great deal of the punk scene (in my opinion). he is the current frontman for a band which seems to...
not that this fixes your problem- but my best friend is on tour with jewel right now in texas... i could call him and see if he'll ask her personally for you... p
