According the the Senior Vice President of Sony, Sony plans gradually move their SXRD technology through their entire line of televisions. Some one at the Sony Store told me yesterday that they have already discontinued their Plasmas.
Anyone seen the new Sony Qualia Q006? I took a short break from work earlier today and wandered over to the Sony Store where they have the new Qualia on display. WOW! Now that is a TV that I would like in my Home Theatre! Amazing film like quality on a 70" screen. Gorgeous colors. Black...
My recommendation ... find a Naim dealer and check out the new Naim DVD5 (it is in such hot demand it may be hard to find a demo at this point in time). For video quality it blows the socks off most DVD players on the market today, including some costing more. It certainly out performs any...
Personally I think you would be much wiser to spend your money a good separates. The sound quality from separates is usually superior. For about the same price I would recommend a Rotel surround sound processor and 5 channel amp.
My feelings are that with the exception of some inexpensive TV's sold at places like Costco, all televisions will be 16:9 in a couple of years. Tubes are being phased out by many of the big companies. LCDs, Plasmas, LCos, DLP's, and any other technologies will all be 16:9. In few years nearly...
16:9 is the ONLY way to watch sports ... whether it is baseball, football or hockey. And for movies it's a no brainer ... in fact all movies should be watched in their OAR ... that is how the director set up all his or her scenes. I would NEVER even consider buying another 4:3 TV ... after...
Here are some photos of Classé's new series - cinenow.com/us/reportage.php/sid,424 cinenow.com/us/reportage.php/sid,821/ I think they are the best looking components on the market ... and eveything matches. The problem is the pirces that I have heard are astronomical - some examples-...
Martin Logan Descent because I have a Martin Logan Surround Sound speaker system - Aeons/Cinema/Scripts. REL Stadium because my main home theatre dealer highly recommends the RELs. I have heard the Stadium in their B&W high end system and was blown away by the sound ... best home theatre...
Anyone done a direct comparison between these 2 subs - REL Stadium and Martin Logan Descent Which did you prefer and why? Since my home theatre system is used for BOTH movies and music it is extremely important to me that the sub work well in BOTH situations. Some subs work great for...

Thanks Miles,
Yes, I intend to use the "21" as the length. I can place the speakers about 3 1/2 feet from the back wall. I know placement of the ML's is fairly critical to get the best performance.
I will be using the Aeons (or Ascents) as the front speakers and the Scripts for the...

Thanks so much for the link! I am glad to know that I am not alone, that others are experiencing exactly the same problems with HDTV on Star Choice!
Hopefully, if viewers keep informing Star Choice of these problems eventually they will all be solved. :)
I am in the process of saving for a ML surround sound system. The 2 systems I am considering are the Aeon orthe Ascent speakers, with the Cinema cnetre and Script surrounds. My concern is in choosing the Ascents is the size of my room. My "theatre" will be in my living room which measures...
Are there any Canadians out there getting HDTV from either Star Choice or Bell Express Vu? If so, what are your experiences with the quality of the broadcasts?
I get my HDTV from Star Choice. When everything is working properly, which is most of the time, the picture and sound quality is...
