Maybe this is n unanswerable question uh?-Since no one has this projector in hand and a liteon dvd player to compare. I though mayebe one of you more experienced folk might have an opinion on my final question.

One last question. Do you guys think the liteon upscaling to 1080i will be able to out perform my projector's faroudja DCDi which is currently being fed by a standard dvd player? The line doubling is pritty impressive but not perfect. I own a mitubishi xd200 projector.I'm just trying to gauge...

The computer is connected to the pj by a vga cable. Just like you would a monitor. I found nothing specific to my question in the faq.

I recommend a quality dvd player. I tried htpc to get better video quality and it wasn't any better then my projectors liner doubler being fed by a non progressive dvd player. I'm considering trying a progressive scan dvd player to see if its better then (or with) my projectors line doubler. Tim

I tried powerstrip and seemed to get the same results. Perhaps i'm not using it right. How does powerestrip do different what setting my desktop at my projectors native (1024 x 768) resolution does? What am i missing? For Scott L, I'm sending a vga line from the pc to my projector.

Are there some DVD videos that won't play on DVD-roms? THe reason i ask is what they say at the link i posted above. "Unless the Region number on both the DVD-VIDEO disc and DVD-ROM drive and its playback components match, playback is not possible."

Thanks Mike. TT finaly cleared this up for me too. So even my old soundblaster PCI-128 would work in this case it sound like. It has stereo output. I don't need to spend any money on a fancy card then. That will save me some money. :)
