My receiver only has A and A & B speaker selector switch on it. I want to add a seperate set of speakers (on B side) in another room and listen to them on their own. Does anyone know how I can create a cheap switch to do this? Is their somewhere I can buy one? THis receiver is in the garage and...
Cast Away. It has been awhile since I saw this but the ending was nothing short of terrible. We saw every single breath the main character took during his ordeal, would it have been so terrible to see how his life turned out?
I just signed up for this today. For the most part it is a joke. The only way you will gain is if you religously rent 5+ DVD's for 3 calendar months out of a given year. It is comical how a company of this size, is screwing around with people on such a small level.
Consider getting the Avia test disc instead of Video Essentials. The Avia disc is supposed to give a better calibration based on your receiver's bass management settings.
According to Avia, the mains should be no farther apart than the width of your screen, IOW they should be right up against the TV. Mine are about a 2 ft away on each side.
I understand the reasoning though. For example on the movie A Bug's Life, there is a scene where the ant is using this...
My advice would be to get everything to a dry location. Let it dry for a day or two. after this, I would pop the covers off of everyting and check for any water. Even if I didn't see water I would take some compressed air (preferably the canned air) and blow the heck out of everything. Don't...
I have the 507. For the money you can't go wrong. I paid $235 for mine at mjshow.com. I was considering the ONKYO 595 but for the price difference I am glad I got the Kenwood. I have heard the Onkyo 595 and it isn't worth the extra to me.
I don't know if suround sub is an established term, but using a subwoofer for the surround speakers is done. I however, do not do this as bass below 80 hz is not supposed to be localized by the human ear. IOW, your ear won't know where the sub is. Many on this forum, atest to it's uselfullness...
One thing you may want to be aware of, is that when you turn this feature on your channel balance will go out the window. To verify this, break out the SPL meter and notice what happens, once you turn it on.
What all do I need? All I have now is the Avia disc and the RS analog meter. The only thing I can see is the low frequency sweep, and it is too fast to log any response.
Can I do this with just the Avia and the RS meter? I am pretty sure my sub is not very flat, just by observing the meter on...
I don't know the make of your receiver. On many receivers the optical and coaxial inputs share different inputs. For example on mine, while using the coaxial input i select DVD 6 channel on the front of my receiver. With the optical connection I select DVDCD.
Does anyone know where i can find a Techcraft Roma audio stand? I know I can go to techcraft.com but don't they have and dealers online? I am looking for a better price on the RH52.
Most everything read here that relates to the RS meter, relates to the analog model. Avia uses the analog meter in all of it's tests and even shows a guy using it on the DVD. I wouldn't get the digital meter if it were me. I didn't anyhow.
YOu didn't ask for a review but I bought my 507 there. Great service and the receiver is super. Couldn't be more pleased. IMO it sounds like a good deal but you may never use the extra features of the 509 but if you need a better remote that may make it worth the difference right there. Go for it.
