I have now had the 2900 for about 1.5 weeks and previously had an RP-91 (which was stolen last Christmas). I have zero complaints about the video on the 2900 including Toy Story, etc. It seems to be as good if not better than the RP-91 by my eyes (it could be that my using a Samsung combo player...
Is anybody using this with a Marantz receiver yet? My receiver will cut the first fraction of a second off the music when in digital mode listening to CD's. Does anyone know if the Denon keeps a continuous signal rather than cutting the signal between songs so that the receiver will stay on and...
Well, my RP91 was stolen at Christmas. I really have been wanting a universal player and knew about the 2900. I really thought they would have all the issues hammered out but he we are talking about the chroma bug and bass management. If these issues are not resolved I cannot see spending 900...
It is my understanding that some players will keep a continuous signal to the receiver so it does not momentarily disconnect. With the Pana it was not a big deal but with the Samsung it sucks.
At Christmas, my RP-91 DVD was stolen. THey left the Marantz 7200 receiver and I have been using a Samsung combo player until I can decide on another DVD Player. Right now it is between the Yamaha 2300 and the upcoming Denon 2900. One simple question, with the RP-91 on digital input listening to...
I honestly doubt you could do a good repair. The bezel around the screen most likely needs to be replaced. I would have them agree in writing to cover expenses and have a have a repairman figure out the part you need a replace it.
I think it would be to list the MSRP of the units. In that case: Marantz 8300--$1500 Onkyo DV-SP800--$1000 Yamaha DVP-S2300--$1000 I think there is a new Pioneer player to be release in June for under 300 also
I would suggest getting your existing ones rebuilt for a couple reasons (I have done this for my old Infinity Kappas) 1) Less expensive (even as compared to cheap woofers) 2) Maintains correct balance and acoustics as Paradigm intended.
Maybe I will do just that. By the way when it comes to switching the 5.1 inputs do the radio shack switcher(s) work well. I know I will have to get off my butt to change it but it seems like the simplest plan. I just cant see spending $200 on the other one I have seen around here (unless...
I appreciate your responses. I may break down and buy a 5 disc changer but I would much much rather have the mega. I wish the Marantz 8300 werent so high or I would trade my RP 91 in on it and get a regular mega changer.
I already have the RP-91 for DVD A and V but I really want SACD but need a mega changer to hold my disks. Does anyone know if Sony will be coming out with a Multi SACD/CD megachanger (or any other manufacturer for that matter). Thanks
For their size, in my opinion Genelec sounds downright incredible. Would have bought them on the spot if budget allowed but 3500+/speaker was a little outta my range.
I find that even in the "higher end" stores they dont seem to know a whole lot of specifics about DVD players. They all want to push the big names on you (like my dealer trying to get me to buy the Marantz over the RP-91 yet couldnt give me a coherent reason why other than the name).
Ive got 60's using a Marantz 7200 receiver. I originally had 12 guage Monster zipcord and they honestly seemed to sound very flat and I was considering switching speakers. I then hooked up Monster M1.4 biwire and these sounded awful at first particularly with Alison Krauss when she would hit...
I am running Paradigm Studio series (60, 20, CC, 2200) with my 7200. Sounds great and agree that they are a good match. I have found that I dont have to monkey with the tone controls with this set up.
Boston Acoustics Grand Voyagers sound awesome. I did not want to spend that kind of money so I bid for some JBL S36AW on Ebay and won for something like $150. Sound great. Also bought some N24's for the shop and they sound great too.
Someone was kind enough to post a link to a 236 iso file in the past. Do you think someone will do this for 250. I am having major problems converting the file (cant get programs to download).
I have one of the first RP-91's. It has the original firmware setting (cant remember number). Will updating to the newest firmware also include the 236 changes or do I need to install the updates individually and in order?
I tell you what would benice.....someone come out with a megachanger with multichannel SACD capability that also had a 5.1 analog passthrough input so you could also use an outboard DVD-A player if you had one (like my RP-91) without having to rig up some kind of switch.
Dont really have a budget persay. Have been looking at the Sony's but not the ES models (will look at them). Was thinking about the Marantz model but it really doesnt offer anything special for the price. Thanks for the suggestions!!
Thanks in advance for your advice. What I am looking for is a 300 or more CD changer which will work well with my system.
My system:
Marantz 7200 receiver
Panasonic RP 91 DVD
Paradigm Studio 60's/20's/CC/2200 sub
;)
I wonder if these were just a bunch that Best Buy found or they have been re-released somehow. Has anyone seen this DVD recently outside of Best Buy. I was able to pick up a DD version at a local FYE store but they had no DTS at the time.
