Id the console (e.g. X-Box) supports widescreen options, no doubt go for a widescreen, but I don't know about PS2 and GC so it might be smarter to go 4 X 3.
Also, look for the feature of disabling the internal line-doubler of the set, as that upsamples the picture, causing it to have the...
Guys I really need advice:
I just bought my TV and DVD player like 3 weeks ago....I have 30 days to return it....It's a Toshiab 16 X 9 34 inch that we payed close to 4 g's for with tax plus the DVD player......should I tell my dad that we should return it? I already mentioned the topic to...
yea use your computer moniter.......I tried using my DC with composite cable on my 34inch widecreen, looked like shit....so I thought if i got the S-video connecter it would improve it, but it didn't.
This is complete bullshit. I jsut gto my HDTV and payed a god amount to lock in the peace of mind that I would'nt be needing a new set for quite some time.
Many, many people have HDTV analog sets...we're not goanna stand for this....either the manufacturers will hae to upgrade our existing...
hey all, I just purchased a Toshiba 34" 16:9 HDTV. DVD's on my Panny RP56 look good, but not as good as i was expecting them to be. I have not done anything really in terms of calibration.
I found a site that rewviewed my particular set and got the proper brightness, contrast, etc. settings...
Hello all,
I just purchased a 16 X 9 widescreen TV, a Toshiba 34". The first movie I watched on my Panasonic RP-56 was The Glass house, the widescreen side. The screen was filled right to the max, no complaints.
The second was Gladiator, now, there were small black bars on the top and...
Well i'm finally going to get this TV tonight and just wanted to make sure:
Is there any reason not to get the TV? Anything like cable signals look horrible, or anyone have bad experience with one?
Thanks!
Hey all, I was wondering what i have to purchase to get DirecTV in Canada. Like a Dish, a reviever, stuff like that.
And how does it all work, like do I set everything up and boom, or do I have do i hhave to get a hacked card?
Thanks
You can recieve HD sources (progressive-scan DVD players, X-Box, etc) no problem.
You need a HDTV decoder if your HDTV is "HD-Ready" which all of them are at the moment with the exception of a 3500 Sony.
The decoder is only needed to revieve HD TV signals, so if you don't plan on ordering...
So can anyone confirm wethere or not the RP-56 is going to be replaced with a newer model? Because I read in another post recently that there was a newer model, now hearing this.....
Not good things to hear when you're going to purchase the player in 4 days, heheh. :frowning:
Hey all. My dad was a huge audiophile in his day. About 20 years ago he purchased a pair oe Energy studio moniters that we still use today. They are absolutley incredible....amazing bass too. He payed about 1000 for the pair...which is like maybe 4000 today.
Anyways, we're getting a widescreen...
The Sony, Panasonic, and Toshiba in my opinion are all great. I have'nt seen the Sony in action but the Panny's line doubler is Very, very good.
But the Panny and the Sony are WAY overpriced. In Canada, the Sony is like 7 grand, the Panny 5, and the Toshiba 3. The Sony and Panny might be...
Hmmmmm have to disagree with you all. HD is coming.....and not everyone upgrades their sets every 3-5 or so years...
I'm purchasing a new TV this weekend. And it's a widescreen. You all say that the sony shows widescreen, whcih is true. But what happens in 5 or so years when HD has lots of...
Before ya jump on the RPTV bandwagon, have a look at the Toshiba 34HF81, it's a 34 inch 16 X 9, fabulos reviews, and you can pci it up at around 2000.
Have a look!
Hey Phillip, I don't own a DVD player at the moment, so check out how it looks is obviously impossible, haha
And Daniel, Eastview is a 5 minute walk from my house (Birchmount and Steels) :)
But that doesn't answer the main question of if I should grab the player now...or wait for universal...
Hey all, after reading the recent post about the new universal Pioneer DVD Player, I have a question. I'm getting a Toshiba 16X9 Tv in the next few weeks, and obviously I'm goanna grab a prog. scan DVD player.
Should I grab the Panny rp-56 for bout 400 bones (canadian) or wait till I see the...
I was just wondering if it was a good idea to grab the rp-91 (800 canadian) and use it's dolby/dts decoder as a reciever, or to grab the 400 dollar rp-56 and buy a seperate reviever.
Thanks!
Well, I need to decide on a set fairly quickly. The 34" widescreen toshiba looks relaly nice and some people have recommended it. Also, audioreviews.com has 3 users giving it 5 stars. I wondered if anyone owns one or is condidering one and what thier thoughts were. Here's the link...
Hey all, new to the fourm, looks really cool so far!
Anyways, for X-Mas, i've been put in charge of deciding what to get for our home theatre. My dad's biased for a tube so looks like that's what I goatta look at.
Primarly, it'll be used for regular cable televison at first, and when we get...
