Vince, sorry about using the wrong forum. :b
Anthony, the speaker is about 13"H x 8"W x 9"D, I was thinking about changing the height to 17" to give room for a front port. I was going to resize the port if necessary.
ThomasW, you have a point there.
The whole thought process came about...
IF you took a small commercially made bookshelf speaker and modified to a front port and slightly increased the internal volume what would be the change in sound quality?
I understand that there are a lot of other parameters that would have to called into play but generally speaking what do...
The water displacement method can work, and it is very accurate.
Simply wrap everything with a large sheet of thin plastic wrap, use a vacuum to do a "imitation shrink wrap" and you are all set. This has worked for me with an impromptu underwater camera shot.
Is it possible to build a small 8" sub, in a less than 1 cubic foot enclosure, that will perform adequately at moderate levels?
I know the answer will be no, build a 12" and turn it down, but that isn't what I want to hear :).
I know that a sub has to move a lot of air but I am talking...
Well I'm pretty new here so you can filter my opinion any way you wish.
I'm also new to HT so I am using this forum as means of educating myself and as a resource for information and suppliers.
I have to give it a :emoji_thumbsup: it's much easier to navigate to the information I want to know...
I was quoted $199/pr for the Atoms at Fairview HiFi they're in Burlington, I would think multiple purchases might get more of a discount. Give them a call.
If you like I can call them tomorrow morning and get you a ballpark price. Email me if you are interested. Sending them some business might help my price as well:emoji_thumbsup:
Brad,
I can't help you there. I'm still looking and trying to make up my mind between Paradigm and
Axiom. What I thought would be a simple process is taking a lot more time than I thought.
My aim is a little lower than yours as well ;). I did get these prices Atoms $199/pr and CC170 $199...
Hi Brad
You may want to try Fairview HiFi they're in Burlington. If you are going home on the QEW this place is only about one mile out of your way.
Take the QEW through Burlington and get off at the Brant Street Exit, turn left onto Brant and go south to the third(?) traffic light at...
I woke up early today about 3:30 am and while running around the dial on the TV I came to SpeedVision where they were showing a Bose infomercial on the Acoustic Wave speaker system.
This is the one that looks like a bent briefcase and has a 7 foot long tube curled around inside it. The...
I'm looking for an entry level DVD player and both of these caught my eye. Canadian list is about $250, the Toshiba is being discounted to $230, the Pioneer to $220.
Question is which one? I'm hearing a lot of good things about the Toshiba but I'd like some input from people with a lot more...
Hello from Canada
I found this site about three weeks ago and thought it was finally time to take a deep breath and jump in the water.
I an currently starting to put together a HT setup, more about that in future posts, but my question really pertains to my old equipment.
I have a Crown D150...
