Odyssey Audio - Epiphony Mini Monitors (or opinions on other quality bookshelfs) Hi does anyone have any experience with the Epiphony's? http://www.tnt-audio.com/casse/epiphony_e.html I'm looking to upgrade from my Ascend CBM-170's (which are great BTW) I'm on a small island in the...
Like the thread says I can't afford a nice HDTV (I live in Trinidad and we have a 6.7:1 exchange rate and 45% duty on electronic items) so I want to use a nice big monitor with my dvd plaver and xbox. I have a phillips dvd player capable of 480p and 540p and of course the xbox which...
Looking for a quality bookshelf that will give me a similar (of better) sound than the Vandersteen 2ce Signatures (mids & highs). I'm in Trinidad, so my choices are limited and if I import I'm faced with almost 40% duty on the cost of the item plus shipping ... That said I have available to...
I currently have Klipsch Reference series 3 speakers and matching components. Receiver is a Rotel RSX-965 (75 watts RMS per channel, dual SVS 16-46 CS+ subs with ART EQ) I had Ascends and was happier with the sound quality but not the quantity (spl capabilities) the Klipsch were chosen...
Everytime the dragon flapped his wings I felt it in my chest!!! Unreal! The fly-bys with the dragon were similarly insane!! Add this DVD to your demo collection it's fantastic! ... The movie itself wasn't half bad either .. I'm not sure what its critics were expecting, but it's a fun...
I need to get a center to match my RF-3 II mains. I can get the older model RC-3 for more than 100US less ... Any tonal differences between the two models? Or should I just go for the new one? Thanks in advance ...
As some of you may know I had ordered a pair of Ascend Acoustics CBM-170's that although really nice, have been an adventure in obtaining.
One of my speakers mistakenly went to Germany, then when I finally got it, it fell from a stand that collapsed and died.
My review of these fine speakers...

Price paid: US$ 360 / pair
First off, let me say that some of you may already know about the exceptional service I've received from AA ...
For those that don't, AA basically replaced a speaker for me at cost...
So I don't need a massive amp to generate the big SPLs I'm looking for.
For my use, sound quality > total SPL level, but Impact is very important ...
How about: HSU ASW1202 or even the 1202M??
Thanks in advance for any advice ...
Marcus
How are they compared to the Axiom M22's or Divas?
As a point of reference, I'm very familiar with the Vandersteen 2ce signature speakers ... are the mids and highs of any of the above speakers close to those babys??
How can I best achieve this?
My Rotel RSX-965 manual suggests :
An alternative configuration for setting up front SMALL speakers with a subwoofer would be to follow the speaker manufacturer’s instructions, wiring the SMALL speakers to the subwoofer’s crossover and then connecting the...
I have a Rotel RSX-965 which according to tech support has a 100hz crossover.
However, at that level I notice voices sometimes trying to be reproduced through the sub ... Very annoying.
I noticed when I set my mains (crappy bookshelves) as large, the crossover drops (not sure to what level)...
Hi Guys,
I'll try to keep this short and sweet for those who are considering getting a sub, but are confused by the many offerings out there.
I just got my 2nd 16-46CS+ today and I've been working the behind off my system since I got home and set it up. I have a Rotel RSX-965 receiver (75w RMS...
At all 4 corners along with the Scenter ... These will be matched with my dual 16-46CS+ and S1000 as well as my Rotel RSX-965.
My question is, what stands do I use with these puppies?
I take it the S38's are larger than they look?
I'd like something with as small a footprint as possible...
Phil I'm considering a JBL S38/Scenter combo vs. a Klipsch RF3 II/ RC3 II setup ... Any opinions ... Note I like my music/movies LOUD, and they will be driven by a 150 w per channel Rotel receiver (RSX-965).
Thanks in advance for your opinion
My Receiver is a Rotel RSX-965 (150w per channel) and I like it LOUD...
Ideally to two mains should provide accurate and LOUD sound for 2ch music listening without need for a sub, although I'll be using a dual 16-46 CS+ setup for movies :D
Any and all opinions are welcome ...
The towers will be driven by a Rotel RSX-965 with 75 RMS per channel (150 w)
Thanks in advance for those who have heard both speakers ...
All opinions welcome.
I ask because I'm nearing completion of my HT ...
I just ordered my 2nd 16-46cs + which will join my existing cs46+, Samson S1000, Rotel RSX-965 (quite nice, 75w RMS per channel), Toshiba DVD (cheap - to be changed), Xbox (awesome) and my lame Sharp 27" (HDTV next year) but connected via...
I just heard the Vandersteen's and WOW!!!
It was running through a Rotel CD player an amp and preamp setup ... Don't have the brands available at the moment.
The highs and mids !!
And just the right amount of bass ...
I need a 5 speaker setup for my HT where the mains will give the...
I was running my Avia disk yesterday that I just got and when the test tone went down to 25hz or so I could hardly hear anything. At 22hz or so ... nothing ... Is this normal?
Unfortunately an SPL meter is 70US here (Trinidad) does anyone know where I can order one online?
Thanks in advance ...
OK I've decided Axiom's are the speaker for me.
I have a Rotel RSX 965 Receiver (150w per ch or 75w RMS per ch) and a 16-46CS+ with S1000...I'm ordering the 2nd 16-46 soon.
Anyway my goal is even more impact for HT as I'm 40%HT/40%Xbox/20%music. Ground shuddering impact... I'm a total bass...
I ordered a 16-46 CS+ and Samson S1000 I have thus far been EXTREMELY impressed with the bass output and the total lack off "boominess" from this sub.
However, I do manage to induce "clacking" on very bass heavy scenes during my movie viewing ... To say I watch movies loudly is an...
I'll looking for a highly efficient bookshelf set to pair with my Rotel RSX 965 (75 w per channel RMS = 150 w per channel) and a 16-46 CS+ with S1000 amp.
I'll soon be getting another 16-46 :D so I'll have the pair.
I need a bargin set, (relatively speaking) so are the Axiom
M22Tise and...
