Just a quick tip - I joined Netflix just to watch this documentary. For 20 bucks, you can watch it once. Of course, if you want to own it - that won't help you.

Jack/Allen - I think you are dead on with the underscanning theory. I just put in a Gamecube game, which does not overscan at all - in fact, it underscans. There are slight jagged edges on the right and left of the TV, which go away when I play with the brightness (just like Allen said)...

Ok - let me update w/ a bit more data: - I used the AVIA disc to lock down the problem. I used the letterbox geometry tests on AVIA, and I determined that the red line only appears at 30 and 50 IRE. at 100 IRE it is absent. Also, if I adjust the picture/brightness high enough, it goes...
