The 3803 that I got from 6th Avenue is most definitely NOT a refurbished unit. I cannot say anything positive about their retail storefronts, but their prices are very hard to beat.

I guess I was really lucky, then- I got the $648 deal about a week ago, rec'd the 3803 on 12/22. Works great, but not really any different from my old Denon 3300 except for the new modes and a much better remote.

The bright-sounding comment that was posted a little while back probably has to do w/ the fact that the B&W speakers I've listened to are extremely revealing- use inexpensive or simply low-quality amplification w/ these speakers and you'll hear it. I've no experience w/ the 300 series stuff...

Rather than any of that stuff, I'd spend the money for an ISF-certified tech to come and calibrate your display. Properly calibrated displays can be significantly better than what you started with. Taka
