You have NO idea! I still have all four films in HD when they broadcast them on the horror channel "MonstersHD?" I can't remember the exact name of it, but I'm pretty sure it was something like that and all four films look absolutely GLORIOUS in HD especially when comparing them to their DVD...
How come this hasn't been made a bigger issue of? In my opinion, something like this, should be being put on all the forums. This is horrible. I bought my set from Amazon a few months ago and never opened it. It's way beyond the return policy, even though it's still sealed... I wonder if I...
I'm yet another one of the people who will not buy the disc until it's available with an extended cut of the movie... If they did it on DVD back in the day then why couldn't they have offered us the same viewing experience now? Especially when they released Alien Vs. Predator on Blu-Ray with...
Exactly Tony. I received the boxed set myself yesterday and right on the back cover it states 1080i. HighDefDigest lists nothing about it. They *DO* however talk about the shocking fact that Masters of Horror is without question in 1080i and NOT 1080p. I know for sure that Smallville Season 6...
My thoughts exactly, John. I ALWAYS read the reviews on highdefdigest.com before buying ANY blu-ray or HD-DVD movie and based on the review they had for Stir of Echoes, it made me not buy the movie even though it is one of my favourite movies of all time. It appears that the blu-ray transfer...
HDM is what everyone on the AVS forum are calling Blu-Rays and HD-DVDs. HDM stands for High Definition Media, meaning BOTH Blu-Ray and HD-DVD (since they are media).
With both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD fully supporting (in their specs) 1080p, why on earth are studios releasing some titles at 1080i instead of 1080p? What possible reason could have to release interlaced titles especially when almost every TV (and most definitely every FP) is now 1080p? I was quite...
Ye-San... No... it's no longer available. Sorry. I just traded it with another member of the forum. I'll go ahead and update (delete) the titles I no longer have.
I much prefer just to trade these for the titles I want, but if anyone out there just wants to buy them, I'll go ahead and sell them as well. All are mint and flawless. No dust, fingerprints or scratches. Prices are as follows: $18.50 for one disc. $18 each for two. $17.50 each for three. $17...
Sure... I read on Highdefdigest.com that Warner used two different transfers for "House Of Wax." One (the HD-DVD) was all pixilated and compressed and the Blu-Ray looked better. I'm sure that's not the only one. Plus not to mention the sound differences. Dolby+ and regular Dolby Digital.
haven't we all been able to decode DTS-MA for the longest time now? I have a 24/96 7.1 audio card with analog outputs into my receiver and I've been able to decode DTS-MA for the longest time now. I thought everyone was doing the same thing?
That's not the point though! I love the movie. Why on earth does Universal have to be so bad when it comes to releasing films both on DVD and HD-DVD? Can't they get it right like other studios? Ugh!
Noooooo!!!!! I literally just bought U-571 on HD-DVD yesterday! I ordered it and it just shipped! Had I known about it, I never would have gotten it!!! Everyone kept saying that it had a "reference" picture! Ugh!!! I'm sooooooooooo mad now!!!!! I'm so mad I could scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it only just the first movie coming to HD-DVD? I was under the impression that it was the whole boxed set. I remember seeing every Tremors movie in HD on one of the HD channels so I know that they're ready to be released... They looked pretty good in HD, especially the second one. The first...
Universal is notorious for releasing movies dripping with EE. Have you seen The Mummy on HD-DVD? Ugh! Horrible! And like you said... almost every single Universal title on HD-DVD (or even regular DVD for that matter) just has loads and loads of EE. There were only a few Universal titles that...
Even better, Gary. How big is your display device? You have to remember I'm using a 127" 16:9 screen so if there is EE, I will definitely be able to see it from miles away and it'll be more pronounced due to the size than anything else.
