That one was also new to me. Interesting how Ward's character is rapidly developing into the calm, thoughtful Dad rather than a bit of an over-the-top hothead of the first episodes. Must have been the tranquilizers.
I think you are becoming famous, Mike! Just the other day I saw your photo in the Post Office. Something about passing counterfeit Best Buy coupons or some damn thing. Keep up the good work.:D
Actually, Mike, a gander at the standings will show you that my A's have inched ahead of your Sox for the second best record in the majors.:) Sorry, Mike! The weak-hitting A's scored 40 runs in a 3 game series with David V.P.'s Reds. Sorry, Dave! And the Evilyankees are still evil.:D
My favorite band is Stool. Most of their music is dark, dense and heavy. They occasionally produce a lighter tune, something airy and flowing, like a languid river of gently gurgling sounds from a waterfall. But their strength is a driving, pulsating, orgasmic cacophony that leaves the listener...
There is justice once again for Mr. Bundy.;)
Mike and David - This has been a most interesting thread. I have come to think of you guys as my friends. I hope we run into each other here and there. Maybe at the ballpark. :)
Charlie Gehringer - Another pretty fair 2nd baseman. Hit .320 over 19 seasons (1924-42) for the Tigers. Scored over 100 runs 12 times. Over 200 hits and 100 RBI 7 times. 1937 MVP.
Hopefully, this will be the final day of this thread.;)
Brooks Robinson - 23 years with the Orioles. Not a bad defensive 3rd baseman.
Go ahead, Mike. What's wrong with Joe? (except as an announcer) Name two better all-around 2nd basemen. C'mon, give it a go. ;)
Rickey Henderson -In the 1989 playoff series against Toronto and the WS against the Giants: 9 games, 34 AB, 12 R, 15 Hits(inc. 2 DBL, 3 TRIPLES, 3 HR), 8 RBI, 9 BB, 11 SB.
The best leadoff hitter ever.:)
Walt Chipple - Hit .136 for the 1945 Senators.
Some comments on the playoffs and World Series:
It took me a while to actually watch any of the Evilyanks/Red Sox series. There was a very bitter taste in my mouth after the A's gave (game 3) another series away. The bush-league antics of several...
