Check it out the specs for the Region 4 set:

Dolby Digital 2.0!! If that isn't a typo then it is a disgrace!
Just the fact that a DTS 5.1 track exists for these episodes and all we get is a stereo track sucks bigtime. I would have instantly bought...
Which is a good site for ordering from Korea, for that matter, is there a site with lists of good internet DVD vendors from around the world, I would love that! Thanks for any info.
EzyDVD shows this for release in February by Paramount but no details to go with it. Does anyone know if it will include the pilot, like (I think) the German version? And ths DTS tracks available on the Region 1? I have the Region 1 set and _love_ it, but I want that pilot, preferably with a...
Fear not, people, you will probably get BTTF 1 on it's lonesome as well as the trilogy:

The release of Part 1 in Australia comes 3 months after the trilogy was released, so I'd say you can expect the same in the states.
Keep on smilin'...

I only know of some footage/scenes that were cut from shoot on Guadalcanal, which was only 4 weeks of shooting, which, I'd imagine, wouldn't equate to many minutes of screen time. I was amazed at how much time was spent sitting on your behind on the average day of filming. I think it was mostly...
I was an extra in 'The Thin Red Line' during the shoot in the Solomon Islands. That was actually at the end of the shooting schedule. After six months in North Queensland, they spent a month in Guadalcanal getting some footage at the actual place where the battles had occurred.
By the time they...
Hey Marshall,
There's no question (according to the manual), it definitely DOES NOT convert the signal between RCA, S-Video and component video. You'll have to hook up RCA cables from the receiver to the TV to see the VCR image.
As far as your TV using the RCA signal over the S-video signal...
Hey all,
I am running a Yamaha RX-V800 with Polk Audio all round [RT35i's(125W) fronts, CS400(250W) centre, RT25i's(100W) rears], all rated to 8ohm with max. power in brackets.
Now, the Yammie has a switch on the back to change between 8ohm and 6ohm, and it is rated to 140W max. X 5 at 8ohm...
PAL may have a superior picture, but it also uses a lot more space on the disc, leaving only room for Dolby Digital soundtracks and 99% of PAL Region 4 releases. Which to me, is quite frustrating, as I am an avid DTS fan from way back.
We do have the advantage in that most new PAL devices (TV...
I'm sure its a problem most of you who live in the States don't really care about, but I am seeking an explanation as to why there are a very limited number of titles (about 30 or so, most of those music/concerts) that contain a DTS soundtrack.
Looking on the web, I can find heaps of DTS...
Hey thanks for the info, and for the welcome. :)
I think I'll have to stick with the phantom channel for now. I think the next receiver I buy will probably be a Lexicon and that'll be second-hand, and a few years down the track.
Thanks again,
Paul
Can anyone please tell me how to connect the speaker for the rear centre channel in 6.1 EX and ES modes? I just bought a Yamaha RXV-800 with Polk Audio Speakers all round (RT25i fronts, CS175 centre, R10 surrounds, PSW250 sub) and would like to hear the difference of 6.1 to 5.1.
I would think...
