When i turned 16 i drove a POS that would only go about 75mph downhill... but i loved it, it was mine and mine alone...well it started having problems and i begin to look for new cars...after lots of convincing my parents i was mature enough and not an idiot i got a Mitsubishi turbo eclipse. My...
Love happens when you least expect it.... you make a friend, and you don't mean anything more by it, then one day you realize that when your with this person your happy and wouldn't rather be doing anything else (i know this has already been said, but i thought it should be said again) when it...
yeah the video portion works just fine, it's the 5.1 signal that i'm having problems with.
so will the rigged cable work, it's not a problem i have no problem doing it, and running a cable out of my case is no prob either it doesnt even have sides on it...the case that is, i built it myself and...
ok i have an 8X DVD ROM, an ATI Radeon 32mb DDR video card, a 21" moniter, and a JVC RX8000VBK reciever. up intil last week i used to watch all of my DVD's and any other video sources through my moniter because i had a TV tuner card in my PC, but now with my new vid card that's not possible...
thanks for all the imput guys (and gals, eve :) ) i've decided to fight it... everyone i've told about this thinks i should too... the idea of making the cop swear to the make and model of the car speeding is a very good plan...that's what i'm gonna do right there...
does anyone have any idea...
alright...tonight me and 3 friends were gonna go out to the race track to see some cool cars ya know..no harm... so we all get on the highway and my friend in front guns it to merge with traffic.... and me and my other two friends follow... bout then i see flashing lights fly past me..they pull...
15 grand a year isn't all that much Nathan....
i make about 13 grand a year...and i'm 16..
6.25/hour, full time...i'm also full time high school student and i have a few dual credit classes at the local college... i'm gone from 7am till 10pm every day except wednesday and sunday.... you...
first of all, based on the info you gave about the "big black box" having speaker connections on the back, yes it's probably an amplifier...
second, an amplifier is used to power your speakers, it takes a "line level" connection from a device that outputs a "line level" signal (RCA,XLR)...
i'm a proud owner of a JVC too :) (8000v)
it decodes DD/DTS/DPL just fine for me and drives me rears just fine...i wasn't to impressed with the way it drove my floorstanding mains in 2 channel stereo but nowadays there powered by a 200x2 vintage kenwood amplifier....my system all in all sounds...
if your mains are set to play down to 80hz with a crossover then you would want your sub to reach up to 80hz so that you wouldn't lose any part of the music like you would if the mains high pass was set to 80hz and the subs low pass was set to 50hz.....the 50 to 80hz sounds would be lost...
the...
all i can really say is to try a different RCA...if that doesn't change anything it sounds like the DVD player has a physical problem...how long has it been doing this? did you change anything right before this started? sorry i'm not much help... i really don't know what could be causing...
wiring in parallel halfs the total impedance, hence doubling the power output of the amplifier..
series adds the two impedances together.....hence lessening the power output..
amplifier output is based on electrical resistance...
the lower the resistance the more power that is gonna flow...
He's not using a digital signal...his reciever is only DD ready.. 5 channel analog imputs...
let me get this straight.....so when you run the "sub out" from the DVD player into the "center in" on your reciever the center does the wierd sound?
or is it when you run the "center out" of the DVD...
it depends on alot of things.....i'm definetely NO expert but the frequency at which everything rattles is mostly based on your room...and subwoofer(s) placement... my room resonates at about 45hz... that's about when i can hear the cabinets in the kitchen start to rattle......
i used to run a...
haha man that SVS would be DEAFENING in that small of a room!!!! ASESOME!!!!!! lol...
i bet you'd have some pretty crazy peaks...but try it, that's the best thing ya could do..

First i would like to say that i'm sorry, i didnt' mean to be so rude about it... and the whole hypocrit thing was to be half-way taken as a joke...althought Nathan did say earlier that he hated liars, yet he lies about the price of his speakers, i guess it all depends though.. maybe he was...
"Kenwood: JL-670"
"i hate liars"
Nathan i'm sorry but those are not 800 dollar a piece speakers...hypocrit!
i have the JL-801 towers which are higher end then the 670's, and they were around 800 for the PAIR (10 years ago)!... i didn't buy them, they were a gift..
they are OK speakers...
first off, Jenson is not a very well made product, there pretty "el cheopo" crap, in other words.. don't buy a Jenson sub... Vega isn't so bad.. not the greatest but not so bad... the best thing you could do is to buy a Shiva or a Tempest, both are GREAT drivers, and dirt cheap compared to other...
yep carver makes a good product..had a chance to play with a 800 watt RMS carver amp and it run my sub AMAZINGLY...LFE all the way down and sub level all the way down and it was still powerful..
using your front two speakers in stereo is fine for music...and if your fronts wont extend down to the lower frequencies just run the subwoofer too... home theater amplifiers are fine to run music through..all there gonna do is take in the signal and ass some juice to it and pump it to your...
both of those are great amps... the only way you would be able to find out is to hook em both up and take a listen..
i'm suspecting the B&K is a 5 channel amp? correct? well if so i would run the Marantz since it's a mono block... i just don't like to see amp channels going to waste :)...
Mark, first off, that looks AMAZING..Verrrry nice
second, i used to have that same Audiosource DPL proccesor.. it was given to me by my very loved Grandpa so i have no idea what it was worth...if it's not a problem do could you tell me what you paid for it? i hope i didn't rip myself off, as i...
does that 150 watt amp move those subs to the max? or near?
man i wish my sub was efficient like that... with 400 watts RMS to it it's still got some space to go... it has 1.5" of rubber surround on it though... the recommended power imput to the sub is 600 watts and a peak of 1000...
I've always kinda wondered this since i've been coming here... im pretty sure probably none of you are "rollerboomers" but i'd imagine you have some nice stuff in your cars... i must admit my car does kinda rollerboom : )
here's what i got...
sony cheapo cd player
Kenwood 400 watt mono sub...
